Awarding ceremony of the National Press and Artistic Photo Contest on the People's Army

(NADS) - On the morning of December 17, in Hanoi, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army presided over and coordinated with the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, and the Vietnam Journalists Association to organize the National Press and Artistic Photo Contest on the Vietnam People's Army and National Defense in 2024.

Lieutenant General Do Xuan Tung, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Comrade Phan Xuan Thuy, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, presented the First Prize to the winning authors.

The Organizing Committee of the contest received 4,502 entries, including 1,601 press photos and 2,901 art photos from 1,495 authors from 63 provinces and cities nationwide. There were 80 art photos and press photos participating in the exhibition and entering the Final Round.

The contest is a practical activity contributing to the propaganda and affirmation of the correct policies and guidelines of the Party and State on military and national defense, building the Vietnam People's Army, building a strong national defense foundation, building a solid "people's heart position". At the same time, it affirms the position, role, functions and tasks of the Army; fosters and enhances patriotism, national pride, and sense of responsibility of the entire army and people to build a strong, modern, and elite Army to meet the requirements of the task of building and defending the Fatherland in the new situation.

Mr. Ta Quang Dong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Artist Tran Thi Thu Dong, Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, President of the Vietnam Association of Artists awarded the Second Prize to the winning authors.

Journalist - NSNA Thanh Hai, resident reporter of Photography and Life Magazine in Ha Tinh, won second prize in the National Press and Artistic Photo Contest on the Vietnam People's Army and National Defense in 2024.

The award-winning photos demonstrated the spirit and will of our army and people, while conveying the historical values and heroic traditions of the Vietnam People's Army; arousing patriotism, national pride and a sense of responsibility to protect the Fatherland.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Duc, Director of the Department of Propaganda and Training and Ho Sy Minh, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, presented the Third Prize to the winning authors.

Major General Tong Van Thanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Propaganda and Training, and Ho Sy Minh, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, presented the Encouragement Prize to the winning authors.
