The Malaysia Tourism, Arts, Culture and Food Festival 2025 is a community event that celebrates Malaysia’s diverse heritage, with cultural performances, traditional crafts and diverse Malaysian cuisine. The festival is part of a series of activities to promote bilateral tourism cooperation and promote the upcoming “Visit Malaysia 2026” campaign, in which Vietnam is identified as a key market in the ASEAN region, while enhancing cultural diplomacy and promoting mutual understanding between the two close ASEAN neighbors, towards the Visit Malaysia 2026 program.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Malaysian Ambassador to Vietnam Dato' Tan Yang Thai affirmed that the Festival is part of a broader effort to promote regional unity and connectivity through cultural exchanges, in which Vietnam is a key partner in these efforts, and committed to close cooperation to promote peace , prosperity and mutual understanding in ASEAN and around the world.
The festival not only introduces typical traditional dishes, but also brings to the audience a multi-dimensional experience through music, cultural and artistic performances and tourism opportunities, aiming to bring a vivid perspective of a Malaysia that is rich in identity, hospitable and full of the spirit of discovery.
At the ceremony, delegates performed the opening ceremony of Malaysia Madani Week - Malaysia Tourism, Arts, Culture and Cuisine Festival 2025, opening a new chapter where cultural values, tourism and the spirit of cooperation are sublimated, paving the way for wonderful discovery experiences and sustainable steps forward in the friendly relationship between Vietnam and Malaysia.
Previously, on the evening of August 1, the Malaysian Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC), through the Malaysian Tourism Promotion Board Office in Vietnam, organized the event "Malaysia Tourism, Arts, Culture and Cuisine Festival 2025" in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. This activity aims to promote bilateral tourism cooperation and promote the upcoming "Visit Malaysia 2026" campaign, in which Vietnam is identified as a key market in the ASEAN region.
The festival includes two main activities: Destination Introduction Workshop and Business Connection Exchange; along with the Malaysia Tourism, Arts, Culture and Food Festival 2025 program. The activities will take place from July 29 to August 2, 2025, aiming to connect industry partners, the media and the public, while introducing Malaysia's unique tourism products and promoting bilateral cooperation.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dato' Sri Tiong King Sing, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture of Malaysia, said: "Vietnam has always been one of Malaysia's most important tourism partners in Southeast Asia. We believe that this visit will promote strong partnerships, towards the common goal of developing sustainable, comprehensive tourism and bringing long-term benefits to both countries."
According to Dato' Sri Tiong King Sing, the series of events in Vietnam not only showcases Malaysia's unique tourism, arts, culture and cuisine, but also acts as a bridge for cultural diplomacy, contributing to enhancing understanding and connection between the two close neighboring countries in ASEAN. This is an important milestone in Malaysia's international promotion strategy towards Visit Malaysia 2026.
The Destination Introduction and Business Matchmaking Seminar will bring together representatives from the tourism, aviation and hotel sectors of the two countries to seek new cooperation opportunities. The program will take place in Ho Chi Minh City on July 29, 2025 (at Nikko Saigon Hotel) and in Hanoi on August 1, 2025 (at Sheraton Hanoi Hotel).
By July 2025, there will be 164 direct flights per week between Malaysia and Vietnam, catering to the growing demand from tourists. The increased frequency of flights will give tourists more flexibility in their schedules, while also boosting segments such as weekend travel, MICE travel and business-leisure travel, which are particularly attractive to the middle class and young Vietnamese.
Malaysia is currently the second largest ASEAN market in terms of visitors to Vietnam, after Cambodia, with 266,000 Malaysian visitors in the first 5 months of 2025. In contrast, Malaysia also welcomed 168,677 Vietnamese visitors in the same period, affirming its position as a favorite destination for Vietnamese tourists.
