Unusual thunderstorm "swept away" 2 billion VND in Bac Gia Nghia ward

According to the People's Committee of Bac Gia Nghia Ward (Lam Dong), the rain, thunderstorms, and whirlwinds did not cause any human casualties but caused about 2 billion VND in property damage.

On August 8, the People's Committee of Bac Gia Nghia Ward sent a quick report to the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Lam Dong Province and the Department of Agriculture and Environment of the province on the natural disaster situation caused by heavy rain in the area.

Authorities were present at the scene to fix the damage caused by the storm.

According to reports, the heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms, whirlwinds and strong gusts of wind did not cause any human damage.

Regarding property, 3 houses had their roofs blown off and 3 vehicles were damaged by falling trees. Some areas suffered localized power outages due to downed power lines and affected traffic infrastructure.

In addition, some agricultural areas were also damaged, with fruit falling or broken.

Bac Gia Nghia Ward People's Committee estimated the damage at about 2 billion VND.

Authorities cut down trees that were knocked down by a storm.

After the storm, authorities were present at the scene to assist people and trim fallen trees.

Local authorities also visited and encouraged affected families and urgently counted the damage to have support plans.
