Ho Chi Minh City strengthens the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods

The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just directed relevant departments, branches and units, including the Department of Industry and Trade, Ho Chi Minh City Police, Department of Science and Technology, Customs Branch of Region II, Tax Branch of Region II... to continue promoting synchronous solutions to improve the effectiveness of the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and infringement of intellectual property rights.

The document emphasizes the need to strengthen inspection and strictly handle acts of storing, transporting, trading in smuggled goods, manufacturing and trading in counterfeit goods, goods that infringe intellectual property rights, and goods of unknown origin. The goal is to promptly detect shortcomings in practice in order to promptly recommend competent authorities to adjust policies and strengthen the effectiveness of state management.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requested the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, departments, branches and local authorities to closely coordinate with functional forces, step up propaganda and mobilize businesses and people to participate in the work of preventing and combating smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods.

The Department of Culture and Sports is assigned to preside over and coordinate with Ho Chi Minh City Television (HTV) to promote the results of this work on mass media. This is to raise awareness among people and businesses, helping them understand and accompany the authorities.
