“Commemorating the 110th anniversary of the birth of General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh (July 1, 1915 - July 1, 2025), the photo exhibition with the theme 'Comrade Nguyen Van Linh - A steadfast and creative leader of the Vietnamese revolution' and the incense offering ceremony at the City Cemetery are key activities, expressing the deep gratitude of the Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City for the great, lifelong contributions of the comrade to the people and the country.”
On July 1, at Lam Son Park (Saigon Ward), the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City held the opening ceremony of a photo exhibition with the theme "Comrade Nguyen Van Linh - A steadfast and creative leader of the Vietnamese revolution."
The exhibition displays 100 documentary images, divided into two parts: "Comrade Nguyen Van Linh - An exemplary and resilient communist soldier" and " General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh - The leader of the country's renovation process."
The images at the exhibition depict the life, revolutionary career and great and important contributions of comrade Nguyen Van Linh to the revolution in the South, from his position as Secretary of the Saigon-Cho Lon-Gia Dinh City Party Committee, Secretary of the Southern Regional Party Committee, to member of the Central Committee of the Southern Region.
During this period, comrade Nguyen Van Linh directly directed, organized and developed the revolutionary movement in the South, making an important contribution to the victory of the General Offensive and Uprising in the Spring of Mau Than 1968, culminating in the Great Victory in the Spring of 1975, liberating the South and unifying the country.
As Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, he always sticks closely to reality, summarizes effective pilot innovation models, and draws lessons to lead the city's development.
With independent thinking and the spirit of daring to think and do, he laid the foundation for many breakthroughs in management and economics.
As General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam in the early stages of the renovation process, he and the Party issued many important resolutions, mechanisms and policies, steadfastly and synchronously implementing the cause of national renovation, leading the Vietnamese revolution to overcome many difficulties and challenges, steadily moving forward on the path of building socialism for the goal of a rich people, a strong country, democracy, fairness and civilization.
The exhibition also shows the simple, honest, and close-to-the-people life of comrade Nguyen Van Linh, a shining example of a steadfast communist soldier who was loyal to the country and devoted to the people throughout his life.
At the opening ceremony, comrade Nguyen Manh Cuong, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, emphasized that the exhibition expressed the deep affection and gratitude of the Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City towards comrade Nguyen Van Linh; honoring the noble revolutionary qualities that he had cultivated and preserved throughout his life.
This is also an opportunity for people to remember and pay tribute to the life and career of an outstanding leader and excellent student of President Ho Chi Minh.
"Each photo is a reminder of the responsibility to preserve and promote the achievements of the revolution, and to build an increasingly developed country," comrade Nguyen Manh Cuong emphasized.
In order to honor the great contributions of comrade Nguyen Van Linh, Ho Chi Minh City has built a number of works named after him, contributing to educating historical traditions, fostering patriotism and national pride for the young generation.
The exhibition runs until July 5, 2025.
