Honoring 100 outstanding voluntary blood donors

In response to International Blood Donor Day 2025, Hai Duong honors 100 outstanding blood donors.

Comrade Nguyen Minh Hung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation in Hai Duong province, spoke at the ceremony to honor outstanding voluntary blood donors in 2025.

On the morning of June 11, the Hai Duong Provincial Red Cross Society held a ceremony to honor 100 outstanding voluntary blood donors in 2025, in response to International Blood Donor Day on June 14.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Nguyen Minh Hung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation in Hai Duong province, said that in recent years, with the drastic participation of the entire political system, the synchronous management of the Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation and the strong response of all classes of people, the voluntary blood donation movement in Hai Duong has increasingly spread widely, achieving impressive results.

From 2024 to present, the whole province has mobilized and received tens of thousands of blood units, exceeding the set plan, contributing significantly to the emergency and treatment of thousands of patients. Hai Duong is also one of the leading localities in the country in organizing activities such as the Spring Festival, Red Sunday, Red Journey, etc.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung emphasized that the act of donating blood to save lives is the most vivid proof of the noble humanitarian spirit and altruism of Hai Duong people. Provincial leaders always identify humanitarian work, including voluntary blood donation, as an important political and social task, requiring comprehensive leadership, synchronous participation and responsibility of all levels, sectors, each cadre, party member and people.

All levels, sectors and organizations continue to accompany the Hai Duong Provincial Red Cross Society to increase responsibility and innovate methods so that the voluntary blood donation movement becomes a sustainable social value and the pride of the province.

Art performance honoring Hai Duong's outstanding voluntary blood donors in 2025

On the occasion of the International Blood Donor Day on June 14, with the message “Donate blood – Small action, big meaning”, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Minh Hung called on every Hai Duong resident to actively respond to the voluntary blood donation movement. Let’s turn love into concrete actions such as donating blood to save lives, at least once a year to contribute to spreading the spirit of humanity and connecting the community.

In 2024, Hai Duong organized 95 voluntary blood donation sessions, receiving nearly 22,000 units of blood, exceeding the annual plan by 24%. This is the year the province has received the highest number of blood units ever. The whole province has effectively maintained 15 voluntary blood donation clubs, teams and groups. In recognition of the contributions to the voluntary blood donation movement, from 2024 to present, the Red Cross at all levels has honored and rewarded 391 individuals, 48 groups and 24 families with outstanding achievements in mobilizing and donating voluntary blood. The 100 individuals honored as outstanding blood donors on this occasion all donated blood 10-30 times.
