Korean volunteers interact with disabled children

DNO - On July 16, Medipeace Organization in collaboration with the Jeju City Social Workers Association (Korea) organized an exchange program with nearly 40 disabled children who are being cared for, intervened, and rehabilitated in Tam Xuan and Tam My communes (Da Nang city).

The activity is within the framework of the Project "Rehabilitation and improvement of quality of life for children with disabilities in Quang Nam " phase 2024 - 2026, sponsored by Koica and Medipeace, to improve public awareness of people with disabilities and enhance social integration activities for children with disabilities in the project area.

At Tam Xuan 2 Health Station (Tam Xuan Commune) and Tam My Dong Health Station (Tam My Commune), many creative exchange activities were carried out between Korean volunteers and disabled children being cared for here.

Regardless of language or distance, with love, volunteers and disabled children and parents create crowns from leaves, draw pictures, make handprints to create "trees of hope", and play group games in a cheerful and friendly space.

Ms. Heo Sunim - President of the Jeju City Social Welfare Association (Korea) said she was very happy and excited to visit, interact and play games with the children being cared for here. The members of the delegation felt the friendliness and enthusiasm of the children.

“We were surprised when our delegation received meaningful gifts, such as drawings and coloring pages made by the teachers and children. We hope that the program will continue to be maintained to help disabled children in Vietnam have the opportunity to integrate into the community sooner,” said Ms. Heo Sunim.
