The book aims to arouse readers' interest in learning about the diverse cultures and rich spiritual lives of the 54 ethnic groups living in Vietnam. It is a valuable spiritual asset, helping young Vietnamese people firmly preserve their identity, nurture their love for their homeland, and step out into the world with pride as Vietnamese people.

With “One House – Atlas of 54 Vietnamese Ethnic Groups”, readers will feel the unique and distinct nuances of 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups expressed in each village, house, dish, festival; admire traditional costumes with typical patterns, or understand more about the customs and practices of each ethnic group that have been preserved and passed down from ancient times through generations.

All are conveyed with condensed, refined information, expressed through familiar, colorful images, leading you on a journey to find your roots.

Each page of the book will make you amazed and admire the diverse and rich cultural and spiritual life of the Vietnamese family. From the special markets of the ethnic groups: the H'Mong and Dao with the Bac Ha market; the Kinh with the floating market in the Southwest, the central coastal market to the diversity in cuisine , famous dishes: Thang Co, Men Men of the Mong; smoked meat, pickled pork of the Dao; bamboo rice of the Tay; broken rice, pho, bread of the Kinh; or banh chung, banh giay of the Tho.

The book also brings the unique beauty from festivals and folk games: Swinging of the Chut people; Ngo boat racing, Seven-mountain cow racing of the Khmer people; New Rice Dance of the Ma people; Sap dance of the Cho Ro people.

Although each ethnic group has its own cultural identity, they are all important pieces to create a common picture of Vietnam's brilliant colors. Each of us, no matter how different our ethnic groups may be, are still children of the same Vietnamese house, sharing the same call of compatriots and carrying in our hearts the pride of Vietnamese identity.

This book is made by two young people: author Vo Thi Mai Chi and artist Ho Quoc Cuong. Before "Chung mot ngoi nha - Atlas of 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups", author Mai Chi and artist Ho Quoc Cuong had books that achieved certain resonance such as "Dat nuoc gam hoa - Atlas of Vietnam", 2022 and "Following the steps of time: Typical works of Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City", 2025, both published by Kim Dong Publishing House.

According to author Vo Thi Mai Chi, since childhood, she has learned and remembered that Vietnam has 54 ethnic groups. Now having the opportunity to delve deeper into the history, culture, life, and customs of each ethnic group, she went from being surprised to admiring the diverse cultures as well as the rich spiritual life of the ethnic groups living together in the S-shaped country.

“All together create the picture of Vietnamese cultural identity. As a Vietnamese, I am extremely proud to be a member of that family. And this is the motivation for me to start compiling the book Chung mot ngoi nha”, author Vo Thi Mai Chi shared.

As for artist Ho Quoc Cuong, he said: "As someone who is passionate about culture and history, I feel very lucky to be able to create the images for the book 'Chung mot ngoi nha', hoping that from there I can contribute to a big circle. I hope this book will create interest for readers to learn more about the aspects of life of the 54 ethnic groups living and growing in Vietnam."

It can be said that “One House – Atlas of 54 Vietnamese Ethnic Groups” is proud to bring readers a living cultural treasure of 54 ethnic groups. In addition, it is also a valuable source of documents for studying, researching, and teaching, helping today's and future generations to understand, love, and be proud of their roots.

With that meaning, the book “Chung mot ngoi nha – Atlas of 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups” hopes to become a valuable spiritual asset, helping young Vietnamese people firmly preserve their identity, nurture their love for their homeland and step out into the world with a proud attitude of being Vietnamese.
