At the general training session of the people's armed forces in preparation for the A80 mission, which took place this morning at the National Military Training Center 4 (Hanoi), the Parade and Marching Subcommittee announced 3 formations of ships participating in the sea parade at Cam Ranh military base (Khanh Hoa).
First is the arrow formation. This formation represents the power and prestige of the armed forces at sea. In the formation, ships with strong firepower are distributed on the two wings of the arrow. At the head of the formation is the command ship, behind are the combat ships and transport ships.
The arrow formation is used to destroy enemy forces when they threaten our ships, increase the ability to defend against attacks on ships in the air, at sea, and under water, protect maritime safety, overcome mine obstacles, and cause difficulties for the enemy.
Next is the V-formation. In the V-formation, the front is the ship with reconnaissance capabilities and strong firepower, the remaining ships are arranged in the back; the corner of the V is the command ship used when operating at sea, increasing the ability to observe, detect targets, destroy enemy forces that directly threaten the ships in the formation, reducing the risk of surprise attacks, increasing the defense capability of the formation, in the air, at sea, and underwater, ensuring maritime safety.

Finally, there is the diamond formation. In this formation, the command ships are on the right and left of the diamond, and the remaining ships are positioned in front. The formation is commonly used when operating at sea, increasing the ability to command, coordinate combat, destroy enemy forces that directly threaten the ships in the formation, ensure maritime safety, and overcome mine obstacles.
