One of the important tasks set is that by 2030, Tien Giang will basically become an industrial province with a synchronous infrastructure system, dynamic regions, economic centers of industry, tourism, marine economy and urban areas; a province with a favorable location "on the wharf under the boat", playing an important connecting role between the Mekong Delta region with Ho Chi Minh City and the Southeast region; national defense, security, social order and safety are guaranteed; people have a prosperous, civilized and happy life.

Tien Giang province's planning has clearly identified development orientations and priorities including: "Two centers (Go Cong Dong - Tan Phu Dong marine economic center and Tan Phuoc industrial ecological zone), One strip (the strip along Tien River is newly planned as a riverside urban axis, mainly for tourism development), Four economic corridors (economic corridor along Trung Luong - My Thuan expressway, economic corridor along National Highway 1, economic corridor along the coastal road and National Highway 50 and economic corridor along Tien River connecting urban - industrial areas with the Mekong Delta) and Three strategic breakthroughs (focusing resources on developing synchronous and modern infrastructure in 3 key economic regions and corridors; promoting administrative reform, improving the investment and business environment and enhancing provincial competitiveness and developing high-quality human resources, attracting, respecting and rewarding talents)".

To effectively implement the set goals, in the field of transport infrastructure investment, Tien Giang has also calculated solutions to effectively implement key projects of regional connectivity to put into operation the Cao Lanh - An Huu expressway section; Ho Chi Minh City - Tien Giang - Ben Tre - Tra Vinh - Soc Trang expressway; deploy investment and complete coastal road projects through Tien Giang province; Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong - My Thuan expressway expansion project; Ho Chi Minh City - Long An - Tien Giang Dynamic Axis project; upgrade the management of three local roads to national highways; At the same time, prioritize resources to build and complete the road traffic system, build main roads, belt roads to develop urban traffic, large-scale investment projects, inter-regional connectivity, economic center connectivity, focusing on completing and putting into operation key projects such as: Road along Tien River, road to Dong Thap Muoi, provincial road 877C parallel to National Highway 50, build Dong Son bridge connecting Long An province, upgrade Binh Ninh ferry terminal through Tan Phu Dong district; My Tho city belt road, Southwest Go Cong city belt road...

With the goal of mobilizing maximum resources to participate in the province's socio-economic development, especially attracting investment in economic and technical infrastructure projects; building a truly dynamic investment environment, improving the level of investor satisfaction when investing in the province, Tien Giang focuses on attracting investment in the direction of exploiting the province's strengths in areas such as agriculture, industry, and services.

The program to implement Decision 1762/QD-TTg dated December 31, 2023 of the Prime Minister on approving the Planning of Tien Giang province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 and Decision 77/QD-TTg dated January 12, 2025 of the Prime Minister promulgating the Plan to implement the Planning of Tien Giang province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 also emphasized the key tasks for the coming period.

Accordingly, to realize the goal of becoming an industrial province, Tien Giang will focus on selectively attracting investment, encouraging priority investment in enterprises, industries, and projects with high technology content, contributing greatly to the budget; having spillover effects, using services and inputs within the province; attracting local labor resources, creating stable jobs; using land effectively and environmentally friendly; at the same time advising on the establishment of 5 new industrial parks with a total area of about 1,575 hectares when meeting the conditions, standards and land use targets according to regulations; deploying the establishment of 26 new industrial clusters, with a total area of 1,375 hectares, bringing the total number of industrial clusters in the province to 30 with a total area of about 1,476 hectares (including 4 industrial clusters in operation).

In addition, Tien Giang will also promote industrial development in a modern, concentrated, large-scale, and environmentally friendly direction; becoming a key economic sector and strength of the province. At the same time, investment promotion work is carried out with focus and key points, ensuring infrastructure and human resources meet requirements; coordinating and grasping information related to the implementation of activities of industrial parks and clusters to promptly propose solutions to support and accelerate the progress of investment in Tan Phuoc 1 Industrial Park, Binh Dong Industrial Park, Soai Rap Petroleum Service Industrial Park, Thanh Tan Industrial Cluster, Gia Thuan 2 Industrial Cluster, etc.

CREATION OF INDUSTRIAL ZONES

One of the important orientations of Tien Giang is to arrange space and industries mainly to develop industry in advantageous areas. The important highlight is that Tien Giang is oriented to arrange space for industrial development in the eastern region of the province with an area of about 5,000 hectares; of which the land for developing industrial parks is about 722 hectares, industrial clusters are about 615 hectares divided into stages, close to the actual situation. At the same time, Tien Giang also plans to form concentrated industrial zones, port industries and warehouses along Soai Rap River, Tien River, Tra River on the basis of existing industrial parks and clusters and newly built; including Soai Rap Petroleum Service Industrial Park, Binh Dong Industrial Park, Phu Tan Industrial Park and industrial clusters: Gia Thuan 1, Gia Thuan 2, Phuoc Trung, Dong Son, Long Binh, Vinh Huu...

In addition to industrial parks and clusters, the land area for industrial development in the Eastern region is still very large (about 3,600 hectares). Therefore, in the coming stages, the province will continue to review and study to add to the land use planning new industrial development areas; the Soai Rap River, Tra River, Tien River and other areas suitable for the industrial development space arrangement plan in localities in accordance with the general development orientation of the province and integration with the development trend of the world.
Forming a clean energy industrial zone (wind power - offshore projects). Along the Cua Tieu River, with the advantage of accessing the traffic route along the Tien River and the big river, it is proposed to develop wharf areas serving production, construction materials and facilities for repairing and building new ships.

The investment in building concentrated industrial zones aims to maximize the land area that is not suitable for agricultural production development. At the same time, it creates favorable conditions for environmental management, construction of concentrated wastewater and waste treatment areas, production and service industries supporting each other to increase overall efficiency and reduce costs for investors. Towards the formation of a modern industrial - urban area linking urban development, industrial zones, commercial areas, residential areas providing housing for workers, service areas serving the long-term development of industrial zones and clusters.

The development of key industrial sectors in the Eastern region is mainly guided by the Provincial Planning and socio-economic development planning as well as sectoral planning for each specific development stage to ensure efficient use of resources and a better and more efficient infrastructure system. For example, in the period of 2026-2030, the province will continue to attract, fill and expand the scale of industrial parks and clusters; attract investment in high-tech processing and manufacturing industries, pharmaceuticals, high-end agricultural product processing for export; develop maritime logistics, oil and gas services, energy ports and offshore economic activities services (oil and gas, energy).

By 2050, develop industry towards green, renewable energy; agricultural and aquatic product processing industry, agricultural service industry, supporting industry; marine economic sector and logistics services; enterprises need to promote digital transformation, switch to ecological and circular industrial models.

In the new journey, especially after implementing the policy of merging provinces, the development orientations in the coming period will certainly be adjusted to suit the actual situation. However, with the conditions of location, geography, the potentials and advantages of Tien Giang land will certainly be integrated to effectively exploit existing resources.
