Prime Minister requests to strengthen prevention of school violence

On January 26, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed a directive from the Prime Minister on strengthening coordination between schools, families and society in preventing school violence, crimes and social evils among students.

The Directive clearly states that school violence, social evils and law violations among students are still complicated. Forms of school violence are increasingly diverse, illegal drug use and law violations tend to increase and become younger. This situation has a negative impact on the physical, mental, moral and lifestyle of the young generation, affecting the educational environment and causing anxiety among the people.

To enhance the effectiveness of coordination between schools, families and society in preventing school violence, preventing crimes and social evils among students, the Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Education and Training to direct training institutions and teacher training and education management staff to focus on innovating the content, methods and forms of life skills education; strengthen training for management staff, homeroom teachers, teachers, staff in charge of psychological counseling, Youth Union, Association and Team work on skills to respond to social networks related to school violence, safety education, crime prevention and social evils for children, students and pupils. Enhance skills to handle situations related to the emergence of school violence; enhance the responsibility of heads of educational institutions in ensuring the safety of schools under their charge.

The Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Public Security to direct local police to strengthen solutions to ensure security, safety and social order in school areas; coordinate with the education sector, local authorities, departments, sectors, organizations and families in investigating and handling cases related to students who commit social evils or commit crimes to ensure safety and educational purposes.

The Ministry of Public Security regularly inspects, reviews, detects, combats, and handles illegal drug use in schools, bars, karaoke bars, and dance clubs; and destroys drug use venues and gathering places.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism continues to control and screen films with violent content for students to avoid negative influences.

The Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Information and Communications to strengthen digital transformation with specific solutions to support relevant parties in managing the safe use of the internet and social networks for children, pupils and students.

The Ministry of Health strengthens coordination with the Ministry of Education and Training to find solutions to manage and prevent the use of tobacco and e-cigarettes; People's Committees of provinces and cities organize inspections, supervision and evaluation of coordination between schools, families and society to prevent school violence, crime and social evils among students...
