Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said he was inspired after listening to the opinions of representatives of the Vietnamese community in Australia. Quoting General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong that our country has never had the foundation, potential, position and international prestige like today, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that this is not difficult to prove. Going back in history, the Prime Minister shared that Vietnam is a country that has suffered a lot of pain and loss when having to face war and embargo for decades. "30 years of war and 10 years of siege and embargo made people's lives very difficult, the total GDP at that time was only 4 billion USD but by 2023 it will reach 43 billion USD. Previously, we had to borrow every kilo of rice but in 2023, Vietnam's rice export reached more than 8 million tons, the largest ever," the Prime Minister cited. Although the economy is modest, it is still something to be proud of. In his relations with international friends, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that friends and leaders of other countries all see the value of Vietnam's brand. "Although the scale of the economy is still modest, its resilience is not high, and the economy is still facing many difficulties, we have overcome it, and the international community appreciates that," according to the Prime Minister.

That means we have brands that reach the world, and our economy, though modest, is still something to be proud of," the head of the Vietnamese Government emphasized. He added that Vietnam is building three main pillars of the country. One is building a socialist democracy, because democracy creates strength, democracy is a resource and only democracy can find talented people. Two is building a socialist rule-of-law state, with all policies geared towards the people. Three is building a socialist-oriented market economy, respecting the laws of supply and demand, competition; not sacrificing the environment to pursue pure growth. In addition, Vietnam has also built an independent, self-reliant, proactive economy, actively integrating deeply into the economy. Regarding bilateral relations, the Prime Minister said that Vietnam and Australia have just upgraded their diplomatic relations to the highest level - Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
