A special "passport to life" with advice to be a good person

(Dan Tri) - A passport does not take you out into the world, but guides you on your journey into life. It is a gift that carries love, trust and the advice to “be a good person”.

"Passport to life" is a special gift given by teachers of Vo Van Kiet High School (District 8, Ho Chi Minh City) to more than 500 grade 12 students, school year 2022-2025 at the Gratitude and Maturity Ceremony with the theme "Journey of trips" held on the morning of June 21.

The spiritual gift is a meaningful farewell full of love and responsibility from the school.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Bui Thien Dao, Principal of Vo Van Kiet High School, compared the age of 18 to a journey and the "passport" awarded is the first ticket.

“The age of 18 is like a journey – a journey of trips where the small passport that teachers are about to give to 564 students is like a passport for them to be ready to move forward and conquer the future,” said Mr. Dao.

The principal also did not forget to remind that the school and teachers always follow, trust and hope that the students will be successful in the journey ahead.

“Be a kind person, know how to love, know how to respect yourself, know how to share, care for others and know how to help people,” the teacher kindly advised.

The "passport to life" was handed to each student by teachers as a symbol of a new journey, carrying many dreams and ambitions. The handover ceremony, though simple, contained many profound messages: "After this farewell ceremony is a challenging journey, where you need to bring with you courage, gratitude and kindness."

The ceremony was also an opportunity for grade 12 students to express their thanks to those who have silently accompanied them throughout the journey.

As a way to remember the merit of teaching and guiding for three years of study, each class of 12 at Vo Van Kiet High School prepared gifts of gratitude to send to teachers. These were fresh bouquets of flowers and handwritten cards given in a quiet atmosphere, in lieu of the students' words of thanks.

Students also gave meaningful gifts to their parents - the people who silently stood behind each step of their growth - as a thank you for their wordless love and years of silent sacrifice.

Also at the ceremony, Quoc Huy, representing the 12th grade students, expressed his gratitude to his parents: “I want to dedicate the most sincere words to my parents – the people who have loved me not with words, but with all their actions, with many years of silent sacrifice. I know that sometimes I am not good, and even make my parents sad... but in my heart, my parents are always everything.”

The gratitude and maturity ceremony ended with tight hugs and even silent tears. With this special ceremony, Vo Van Kiet High School not only held a gratitude ceremony, but also gave students the first provisions when entering life.
