Having already secured their ticket to the next round, both teams only fielded their second team for this match. And this was beneficial for Man City as they had a more experienced and balanced squad than Juventus.
Even the three little-known central defenders Lloyd Kelly, Nicolo Savona and Pierre Kalulu made Juventus' defense look amateurish, even though they had started in the previous two matches.
Kalulu only needed… 9 minutes to turn himself into a clown. Doku (Man City) broke free and with just a simple turn of the ball made the Juventus centre-back redundant. The Belgian striker easily put the ball into the far corner to open the score for Man City.
Two minutes later, Juventus had a lucky equalizer thanks to Koopmeiners. Goalkeeper Ederson was too subjective with his pass. Thanks to that, Koopmeiners was able to steal the ball and score.
But that was just a rare highlight that the Italian team created in the first half. Otherwise, they were almost powerless against Man City's overwhelming ability to control the game.
Kalulu's poor day continued in the 26th minute with an unacceptable tackle. Matheus Nunes broke free down the right flank but failed to pass the ball in.
Not under pressure and standing quite far from the goal, Kalulu still managed to put the ball into his own net, much to the surprise of everyone. In this play, the French midfielder clearly showed his immaturity when he simply cleared the ball and the dangerous situation passed.

In the second half, coach Pep Guardiola started to send his key players onto the field and from here, Man City dominated even more. In the 52nd minute, Haaland only needed a few minutes to increase the score to 3-1 thanks to a clever run and put the ball into an empty net after a pass from Nunes.
In the 69th minute, it was Foden's turn to score after Savinho had done the hard part of getting the ball past goalkeeper Di Gregorio. And in the 75th minute, Savinho scored with a beautiful long-range shot from outside the box.
Only after playing explosively and scoring consecutive goals did Man City start to slacken off. Thanks to that, Vlahovic was able to help Juventus score the second goal in the 84th minute.
With a resounding 5-2 victory, Man City topped Group G of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. Meanwhile, Juventus was the second team in the group.
