Short of 1,200 teachers, Long An plans to order more than 2,000 pedagogical students

On July 2, answering voters at the 16th session of the 10th term Long An Provincial People's Council, Mr. Nguyen Quang Thai - Director of the Departmentof Education and Training of Long An Province - said that currently the team of teachers and education managers in the area is 17,856 people, and the province is still short of 1,220 teachers.

The number of teachers lacking at specific levels includes 216 preschool teachers, 345 primary school teachers, 529 secondary school teachers and 130 high school teachers.

Mr. Thai said that every year, the Department of Education and Training and the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities in the area always develop plans to receive and recruit civil servants in the education sector under their management. These plans aim to promptly recruit to meet the cases where the recruitment quota has not been met, or there are replacements for retired or resigned teachers...

In addition, from 2021 to present, the education sector of Long An province has also developed a plan and ordered teacher training according to the needs of 868 pedagogical students. This will be an additional source of recruited teachers for the coming years.

It is expected that in 2024, the province will continue to order training for 2,083 pedagogical students. Including 486 preschool pedagogical students, 672 primary pedagogical students, 921 secondary pedagogical students and 4 special education students.

In cases where recruitment is still not enough teachers according to regulations, educational institutions continue to conduct guest lectures according to regulations.

Previously in 2023, the People's Council of Long An province also issued a resolution on regulations on support regimes at the level of 50 million VND for each case recruited as teachers at public educational institutions in the area.

In addition, to attract talented human resources to work at high-quality schools and specialized schools in the province, the province currently has a support policy of 120 million VND for recruited masters.
