Dong Thap Province Education Sector expects Resolution 71-NQ/TW

The Politburo has just issued Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in the development of Education and Training in the new period. This is considered an important resolution, considering Education as the top national policy, a key driving force to improve the quality of human resources, serving rapid and sustainable development.

In the context of fundamental and comprehensive innovation in Education which has achieved many results but still faces many difficulties, Resolution 71 sets out strategic directions with many viewpoints, goals and specific solutions. The biggest highlight is the requirement to innovate thinking, build outstanding mechanisms, mobilize the strength of the whole society to invest in Education and Training, thereby creating a substantial change in quality, efficiency and fairness in access to education.

Sharing his first impressions when approaching the Resolution, Mr. Nguyen Phuc Vien - Principal of Cho Gao High School ( Dong Thap province) said that Resolution 71-NQ/TW is an important turning point for Vietnamese education to make a breakthrough and catch up with international trends. He believes that with high political determination, along with synchronous investment in facilities, programs, teaching staff and management, our country's education can completely achieve milestones that many countries dream of.

According to Mr. Vien, Resolution 71 creates strong motivation and confidence for local schools, including Dong Thap, to promote the application of information technology, innovate teaching methods, and connect with practice; at the same time, focus on building a team of good teachers with the capacity to integrate internationally.

“I believe that if we persist in implementing drastic measures and have a long-term strategy, Vietnamese education can absolutely enter the top 20 leading education systems in the world by 2045. This is not only an aspiration, but also a feasible goal if the whole industry is determined to innovate, take students as the center, and develop learners’ capacity and qualities comprehensively,” Mr. Vien emphasized.

Sharing the same view, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son - Principal of Tran Hung Dao High School (Dong Thap province) said that Resolution 71-NQ/TW opens up a clear direction for general schools to strive to meet national standards, while at the same time promoting teachers to self-train and improve their professional qualifications and skills.

According to Mr. Son, when every teacher is aware of the responsibility to improve their own capacity, and schools receive synchronous investment, the implementation of the "breakthrough" goal in Education and Training will become practical and effective, contributing to realizing the aspiration to build an advanced, integrated and sustainably developed Vietnamese education.

“The resolution is a guideline for each school to have more motivation to invest in facilities, improve the teaching environment, and move towards standardization and modernization. For the teaching staff, this is an opportunity for us to continuously study, innovate teaching methods, improve our qualifications, and meet the requirements of educational development in the new era,” Mr. Son shared.

Reality in Dong Thap shows that the provincial education sector is determined to innovate, from the new general education program to school models associated with production and life practices. The issuance of Resolution 71 by the Politburo is an important boost, helping localities have a solid political foundation to propose and implement projects and programs to improve the quality of comprehensive education.
