According to Associate Professor, Doctor, Doctor Tang Chi Thuong, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health , in recent times, the city's health sector has gradually standardized the coordination regulations between outpatient and inpatient emergency care, strengthening the connection between hospitals and the 115 emergency system. The force participating in outpatient emergency care is also trained in a standardized approach and handling of ABCDE priority issues according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the International Federation of Emergency Medicine (IFEM).
To ensure the smooth and effective operation of the entire emergency system, the 115 switchboard has been invested in and equipped with modern equipment. Since the beginning of 2021, the 115 Emergency Center has deployed an emergency dispatch software system, which helps optimize the call reception process, analyze emergency situations in real time, and automatically dispatch ambulances to the most appropriate locations.
In addition, the 115 hotline has implemented consulting and first aid instructions via phone, both reassuring and helping people to do what they should do while waiting for the emergency team to arrive, and even providing first aid instructions remotely. The process of instructing on cardiopulmonary resuscitation, first aid for choking on foreign objects, etc. via phone has really contributed to saving the lives of many critically ill patients in recent times.
Previously, in Binh Duong area, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health launched 2 satellite emergency stations 115 belonging to Binh Duong General Hospital and Military Hospital 4.
"The expansion of the satellite emergency station network in the two areas of Binh Duong and Ba Ria Vung Tau aims to help people living here to use the emergency services of the Ho Chi Minh City health system. Increasing the number of satellite stations in the Binh Duong and Ba Ria Vung Tau areas is one of the urgent activities and will continue to be implemented by the health sector in the coming time," Associate Professor, Dr. Tang Chi Thuong emphasized.
At the same time, Associate Professor, Doctor, Doctor Tang Chi Thuong said that according to the plan, by the end of 2025, the city's health sector will start building a new 115 Emergency Center at Tan Kien Specialized Medical Cluster, expecting this to be a modern Emergency Center that meets international standards, which is one of the indispensable conditions when transforming outpatient emergency activities in the city towards professionalism.
