VietNamNet shares an article by Master Nguyen Quang Thi (Math teacher, Bao Loc High School, Lam Dong ) to help students have a reasonable review strategy and prepare the best mindset in the last days before high school graduation in 2025:

This year, students take the exam according to the new program (2018 General Education Program), Math is still a compulsory subject to be recognized as graduating, as a basis for university admission. Although most students have grasped the structure of the high school graduation exam, which has 3 parts from the 12th grade program and 5 questions from the 11th grade program, in order for them to do the Math exam effectively, they must have knowledge, Math solving methods and a strong mentality.

About knowledge:

At this stage, students should not bury their heads in solving problems because the more they solve problems, the more they will see new problems appear, leading to confusion. Instead, they should calmly review the knowledge and content they have learned, memorize mathematical formulas, and deeply understand the method of solving each type of math problem.

You should remember that there are always 3 parts in the exam. Part I consists of 12 questions, each question has 4 options, only choose one answer for each question and get 0.25 points, in which grade 12 knowledge has 8 questions and grade 11 knowledge has 4 questions. This part is usually recognition and understanding questions so it is quite familiar, any student can do it because they have been trained for a long time at school.

Part II consists of 4 questions, each with 4 parts a), b), c) and d). This is a true-false multiple choice question. The number of points is accumulated for each part and the maximum is 1 point for each question. Complete a question with 4 parts to get 1 point. Specifically, question 1 belongs to the chapter on applying derivatives to survey and draw graphs; Question 2 belongs to the chapter on antiderivatives, integrals and applications; Question 3 belongs to the chapter on probability or statistics; Question 4 belongs to two chapters: (1) vectors and coordinate systems in space; (2) equations of planes, lines and spheres.

In this section, there are two questions at the recognition and understanding level, the remaining two questions at the understanding and application level. Students must be careful with each idea to get the maximum score, and if one idea is wrong, they will lose 0.5 points. If you are not sure about the knowledge, it will be difficult to get the maximum score in this section.

Part III consists of 6 short answer questions, each worth 0.5 points. This is the type of question that students
Students solve the questions in essay format and then write the final results on the answer sheet. The questions in this section are mainly application and high-level application to classify the students' level. There will be one question related to grade 11 knowledge and 5 questions related to grade 12 program.

Students should note that this section has many practical questions with very long explanations, which can be somewhat difficult. I think there are 3 very difficult questions and to be able to do them requires candidates to have creative thinking, have a solid grasp of knowledge from lower grades, and go through many steps to complete.

About the problem solving method:

This year, students will take the high school graduation exam in 4 subjects, so they need to know how to arrange their study schedule appropriately. Morning, afternoon and evening - each session should take 2 hours to review the knowledge of each subject. For the 3 subjects used for university admission, students should invest more in theory and exercises; for the remaining subjects, which are only used for graduation exams and not for admission, focus on reviewing basic knowledge to avoid failing.

For Math, students need to pay attention to the types of math problems, read and review carefully how to solve each type. Read and think about it until it is absorbed.

With Math, some questions only take a few seconds, some take a few minutes, and high-level application questions can take 10 to 15 minutes. So, students with weak and average academic ability should do the recognition and comprehension questions; good, excellent, and gifted students should do the application questions.

When doing the test, students need to choose the easy questions to do first, read the difficult questions carefully, then outline the solutions on a draft, then choose the appropriate way to do it. Usually, difficult questions require thinking to choose the optimal solution. Don't be overwhelmed when you see your friends around you asking for a lot of draft paper, stay calm and believe in yourself. When you finish the test, you should read the entire test again to check and detect errors one last time.

Psychologically:

Entering a major exam, students cannot avoid feeling anxious and nervous. This year, universities are not allowing early admissions, so the graduation exam results are even more important, especially for those applying to top schools. However, to get high results, students need to have a comfortable spirit, good health, and a stable mentality.

Experience shows that if students study well but are often nervous, anxious and stressed, the results may not be as expected. To have a stable mentality during the review process, students need to regularly solve exercises to practice skills, at the same time know their shortcomings, and from there learn from their own experiences. In addition, in the school and department's mock exams, students can also assess their level of knowledge and make efforts to consolidate it.

When taking the exam, you need to prepare all the necessary equipment and arrive at the exam room 15 minutes early to feel comfortable. When receiving the exam, you need to read the exam carefully many times to find the solution for each question.

If you still feel nervous and confused, take a deep breath and exhale slowly and clasp your hands together to calm down. Be calm, confident and try your best, you will achieve the best score possible!

Merging 34 provinces and cities, will the content of the 2025 high school graduation exam change? The merger of provinces and cities involves knowledge in some subjects, especially Geography, but according to a representative of the Ministry of Education and Training, this does not affect the high school graduation exam and candidates' papers.
