Remembering Uncle Ho in May | Gia Lai Electronic Newspaper

(GLO)- It is the nostalgic days of May. The cicadas are chirping on the brilliant and colorful phoenix trees. The golden sunlight runs along every street corner, lingering in the schoolyard, as generations of students are eagerly preparing to enter the exciting summer vacation.

Every summer, the closer it gets to Uncle Ho's birthday, the more excited and emotional I feel. I remember the song "Warm Love of Uncle Ho's Hometown" with its soulful melody: "A clear blue sky/With white clouds like cotton/On the way to visit Uncle Ho's hometown/With so many emotions in my heart". Also, I am a girl from Nghe An who has been away from home for a long time, I love Uncle Ho immensely, always proud and vow to study and follow his example for the rest of my life.

I have been away from home for 26 years now, but the image of my homeland and Uncle Ho's birthday, associated with my childhood memories, are still forever in my heart. I remember the early mornings when we, as children, would walk around the lotus pond together. The fresh air and the sweet scent of lotus made my soul suddenly feel light, comfortable, and at ease. That scent, that atmosphere, every time I think about it, my heart is filled with nostalgia for my homeland.

Before Uncle Ho's birthday, Sen village welcomed visitors from all over the country. The quiet countryside atmosphere suddenly became bustling. Folk songs from Nghe An kept humming, touching people's hearts. When I was still working in the education sector, after the school year ended, in the summer, we followed tour groups to visit the Museum and the thatched roof house where Uncle Ho was born. Although we heard stories about Uncle Ho many times, each time, we were moved to tears.

Those memories followed the children of Sen village as they grew up over the years, becoming memories that never fade. The life and career of Uncle Ho, told by the tour guide, inspired us, enriched our souls with purer feelings and overflowed with love for our compatriots and comrades, helping us - the children of Nghe An on the highlands - to grow up day by day. The more proud we are of Uncle Ho, the more we love our homeland and try to live better and more responsibly in life.

May has come again. And, the folk songs of Nghe An still hum in me, sparkling in my childhood memories with many memories associated with Sen village.
