Prof. Dr. Pham Van Duc gave the opening speech.
In his opening speech, Prof. Dr. Pham Van Duc - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Philosophy Association affirmed that the merger of Gia Lai and Binh Dinh is not only an administrative change, but also raises a series of issues regarding community management, coordination of interests and shaping of common identity. In this context, the strength of national solidarity is not only a traditional value, but also a pillar to ensure sustainable and harmonious development between old and new community groups, between diversity and unity.
The Standing Vice President of the Vietnam Philosophy Association proposed a number of key issues for the Workshop to discuss and clarify together, such as: Rethinking the theoretical system on national solidarity to suit current reality; how to deeply apply Eastern philosophical values - especially the idea of "harmony in differences", "responding to all changes with constancy" in the process of planning and implementing ethnic policies. He emphasized the role of indigenous institutions such as village elders, prestigious people, and ethnic minority intellectuals that need to be elevated as an official link in modern governance. The solution is to promote digital technology to become a socio-cultural glue, so that ethnic minority youth can access technology while still preserving and developing their identity. He also suggested the need to build a "four-house" development model: State, Enterprises, Scientists and Ethnic Minority Communities.
