The second round of spraying pesticides to prevent and control leaf rollers and other pests on spring rice was carried out by localities in the province from May 4 to 8. The total area requiring control was over 63,000 hectares.
After 3-5 days of spraying, the agricultural sector will send technical staff to continue checking the density of pests and diseases to have timely guidance measures.
This is an important phase of pest control, which determines the growth and productivity of spring rice, so in recent days, districts and cities have focused on inspecting fields, propagating and encouraging farmers to spray pesticides according to schedule. Unfavorable weather has affected the progress of pest control in localities, however, with the strong direction of authorities at all levels and the initiative of farmers, by May 8, the whole province had basically completed the spraying.
After 3-5 days of spraying, the agricultural sector directs technical staff to coordinate with localities to evaluate the effectiveness of spraying as well as check the density of pests and diseases in the fields to promptly isolate and direct appropriate prevention and control measures, ensuring safety for spring rice.
It is expected that by May 10, the whole province will have about 30,000 hectares of rice in bloom, and by May 20, about 67,000 hectares. From now until the end of the season, farmers need to continue to closely monitor their fields, monitor pests and diseases, and follow the instructions of the professional sector to have care and prevention measures, ensuring the productivity and yield of spring rice.
