On the morning of August 12, the Management Board of Hon Cau Marine Reserve (Lien Huong commune, Lam Dong province) coordinated with the Lien Huong Border Guard Station to release a rare turtle back into the sea.
Specifically, the turtle was discovered by a local resident wandering into the Vinh Tan Thermal Power Center area (Lam Dong province), so he was brought to Hon Cau Marine Reserve.

Through inspection, this turtle is a sea turtle species, weighs 12kg, is 50cm long, has the scientific name Cheloniidae, and is classified as critically endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
When released into the marine environment, the turtle was in normal health and quickly swam out to sea.

Also according to the Hon Cau Marine Reserve Management Board, previously, the unit discovered a sea turtle coming ashore to lay 108 eggs.
The conservation staff moved the turtle eggs to the hatching area. By the morning of August 9, the nest had hatched 93 baby turtles.

Immediately afterwards, the Hon Cau Marine Protected Area Management Board released all the baby turtles back into the marine environment.
