After many days of overcoming storms, the working group of the Naval Region 2 Command on the Truong Sa 04 ship arrived at the DK1/10 platform, in the Ca Mau Shoal waters, on January 17.
DK1/10 is the only platform that the delegation can visit directly. Due to the level 5 and 6 wind and waves, the previous four locations including DK1/15, DK 1/11, DK 1/14 and DK1/12, the delegation had to wish the officers and soldiers of the platform a Happy New Year via loudspeaker and give gifts via wire.

Following the Truong Sa 04 ship departing from Ba Ria - Vung Tau on January 9, Nguyen Tan Giau suffered from seasickness and had to lie down for several days but quickly regained his spirit and health when he arrived at the rig. He will be on duty here for the next year.

The delegation held a memorial service for the martyrs who sacrificed their lives on the southern continental shelf of the Fatherland. In 1990, 1996, 1998 and 2000, strong storms destroyed a number of platforms where naval officers and soldiers were on duty.

DK is the initial letter of the phrase Service - Science and Technology, serving civil purposes at sea. DK1 is built in the form of platforms, on the southern continental shelf of Vietnam, about 250-350 nautical miles from the mainland and the southeast sea of the Fatherland. The tasks of the platforms are to set up lighthouses to notify fishing boats and maritime transport vessels traveling in the area; to set up hydrometeorological research stations; to serve as storm shelters and rescue fishermen; and to guard and protect the sovereignty of the southern continental shelf of the Fatherland, to protect the peace for exploiting resources on the continental shelf.
