Farmers know profits in advance
After being established and operating for only a few years, many cooperatives and enterprises in Lam Dong have built large outdoor farming areas with a variety of agricultural products, in which farmers know their profits in advance through annual price agreements.
Mr. Tran Ngoc Toan - Faculty of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Nghe An University and Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director of Me Linh Ecotourism Cooperative Nguyen Thi Moi, Nam Ban Lam Ha Commune (Lam Dong) when meeting with Chi Cuong Agricultural Products Company Limited, Duc Trong Commune (Lam Dong) have successively reached an agreement on synchronous transfer of new technology and production organization with pre-estimated investment costs, associated farming households as the basis for land area allocation, labor management, profit balance for reinvestment in production according to each season.
Previously, with the form of "locking in" profits before building a recirculating hydroponic greenhouse in Nam Ban Lam Ha commune, Son Farm High-Tech Cooperative and farmer Trinh Van Viet boldly disbursed billions of dong in investment capital to put into production operation, achieving positive results right from the time of planting, caring for and harvesting the first batch of glass lettuce.
It is expected that by the end of 2025, Mr. Trinh Van Viet's household and Mr. Nguyen Van Son's household, members of Son Farm High-Tech Cooperative, will continue to convert 3,000 m2 and 2,000 m2 of ineffective perennial crop land to invest more than 1.2 billion VND/1,000 m2 to build a greenhouse to grow hydroponic lettuce when they know in advance their annual profit.
Mr. Vu Hoang Tuan, in charge of production and processing of Chi Cuong Agricultural Products Company Limited, said that this company was established in July 2022 with 10 farming households linking to produce more than 10 hectares of vegetables, tubers, and fruits outdoors in the agricultural areas of Duc Trong commune and neighboring communes and wards in Lam Dong province.
Based on the output contract with the distribution partner down to the network system closest to consumers, Chi Cuong Agricultural Products Company Limited signs a contract with each farming household, in which the purchase price is agreed upon 1 year in advance. In particular, to retain the stable and long-term association of farming households, Chi Cuong Agricultural Products Company Limited is responsible for investing capital, seeds, techniques, and purchasing all harvested agricultural products. The association households only meet the conditions on production land area, highly skilled labor force, etc.
Profit 150 - 200 million VND/ha of outdoor vegetables
Up to now, after 3 years of establishment and operation, Chi Cuong Agricultural Products Company Limited has increased to 50 households associated with producing 100 hectares of outdoor vegetables, tubers and fruits.
“In the large agricultural production areas of Duc Trong commune and neighboring communes and wards of Lam Dong province, our company chooses to grow vegetables, tubers and fruits outdoors that adapt to the weather of the two rainy and sunny seasons of the year. The varieties are diverse and ensure food safety and quality according to the needs of the consumer market. Specifically, in the rainy season (May - October), we grow and harvest vegetables such as green onions, mustard greens, Chinese cabbage, Chinese cabbage, Chinese spinach, green beans, etc. In the dry season from November of the previous year to April of the following year, we grow vegetables, tubers and fruits such as cabbage, Chinese cabbage, carrots, tomatoes, cauliflower, sweet peppers, etc. On average, each year, our company consumes the harvested products, ensuring a minimum profit of 150 - 200 million VND/ha for associated farmers…”, informed Mr. Vu Hoang Tuan, in charge of production and processing of Chi Cuong Agricultural Products Company Limited.
One day in mid-July 2025, at the vegetable, root, and fruit processing and packaging workshop of Chi Cuong Agricultural Products Company Limited, the processing stages were performed quite smoothly by more than 60 workers, linked together from the system of pumping and washing vegetables, roots, and fruits in clean water tanks, sorting, peeling, removing wilted leaves, cutting stems, to packaging more than 20 types of vegetables, roots, and fruits weighing 100 grams/package in nylon.
Outside the factory door, trucks are loaded into the cargo compartments one by one and then moved to the “gathering” warehouse within a distance of less than 3 km. The transit warehouse is located on an area of 2,000 m2 , and Chi Cuong Agricultural Products Company Limited normally only “gathers” about 20 tons/100 tons of maximum storage capacity for vegetables, tubers, and fruits before transferring them to the logistics system to the South and North according to customers’ orders for fresh green food…
When becoming an official member of Me Linh Ecotourism Cooperative, the associated member farmers of Chi Cuong Agricultural Products Company Limited continue to be trained, coached, and directly transferred new techniques for cultivating vegetables, tubers, and fruits in a modern, sustainable direction by engineers from the Faculty of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Nghe An University, meeting food safety criteria associated with exploiting the increasingly widespread consumption market. The scale of the chain of links reaches out to different ecological regions of Lam Dong province...
