Diversified solutions for consuming lychee and Luc Ngan agricultural products
Luc Ngan is a mountainous area of Bac Giang province, also a locality with abundant agricultural resources. Agriculture has become the strength of the locality, especially the development of some fruit trees with high economic value such as: lychee, orange, grapefruit, longan, apple, guava, dragon fruit... the annual fruit output reaches from 150,000 to 200,000 tons/year.
June is the peak lychee harvest season. This is a special fruit with a short harvest time, requiring strong participation in promoting product consumption. In 2025, the total lychee growing area in the district will reach 10,384 hectares, with an estimated output of 65,000 tons; of which, early lychee will reach 13,860 tons, main-season lychee will reach 46,640 tons. Notably, the production area meeting VietGAP standards accounts for 66.96% with 6,930 hectares, with an output of about 46,300 tons. Since the beginning of the season, the district has consumed about 6,000 tons of early lychee, of which 41% has been exported to international markets, demonstrating efforts to promote trade integration and enhance the brand of Luc Ngan lychee.

To promote lychee consumption, Luc Ngan district has established Steering Committees at the commune and town levels to support harvesting and consumption activities; promote propaganda and guide farmers to apply cultivation techniques, preliminary processing, and quarantine according to export standards. Bac Giang province and Luc Ngan district have also worked directly with functional forces of border provinces such as Lang Son, Lao Cai, and Quang Ninh to ensure smooth customs clearance for agricultural products.
In addition to promoting exports, Luc Ngan district also promotes the connection of enterprises, production units, and supporting service providers for harvesting, packaging, and transportation activities. Currently, there are 5 foam box manufacturing facilities, 25 industrial stone manufacturing facilities with a capacity of about 6,000 tons of lychee per day; nearly 2,000 lychee drying kilns for processing dried lychee. Local commercial banks have also proactively provided financial services to support transactions and circulation of goods during the peak season.
Notably, since this year, Luc Ngan has implemented a new orientation: linking agricultural production with rural tourism economic development. At the same time, closely linking with e-commerce businesses to consume agricultural products on digital platforms.
Enterprises participate in consuming agricultural products
To contribute to the consumption of local agricultural products, the Department of Industry and Trade of Bac Giang province coordinated with Jin Pro Network Media and Entertainment Joint Stock Company to implement the program "Top Agricultural Products - Agricultural Products to the City". The program was held from June 6 to 7, 2025 in Luc Ngan district, focusing on promoting and consuming lychee and other typical agricultural products of the province through digital platforms.
Accordingly, the program "Top Agricultural Products - Agricultural Products to the City" took place with a series of events including: Organizing a workshop to discuss the connection and use of digital platforms (TikTok, Facebook, YouTube) for promotion, sales and transportation connection presented and answered by Jin Pro Network Media and Entertainment Joint Stock Company. At the same time, the Company and the Department of Industry and Trade of Bac Giang also coordinated to organize guidance and training for businesses, cooperatives and households producing and trading lychee and some typical agricultural products on how to use digital platforms with a large number of followers to sell products.
In particular, on June 7, 2025, the Department of Industry and Trade of Bac Giang coordinated with the People's Committees of Luc Ngan district and Chu town, the People's Committee of Giap Son commune and Jin Pro Network Media and Entertainment Joint Stock Company to organize livestreams for KOLs and KOCs, along with representatives of enterprises, cooperatives, and production and business households to promote and sell products at booths and lychee gardens in Muoi village, Giap Son commune, Luc Ngan district. Preliminary statistics have shown positive figures. Specifically, the live sessions reached 30 million total views; 4 million viewers in 2 sessions. In just one day, 1,578 orders were closed from the Live sessions. In particular, a cooperative closed 7 tons of agricultural products...

This is a valuable experience for the company to continue to develop and spread this model to many localities across the country, contributing to the development of e-commerce in the agricultural sector.
Also on June 7, in Luc Ngan district (Bac Giang province), the district People's Committee organized the Lychee Consumption Promotion Program in 2025. Chairman of the district People's Committee Dao Cong Hung emphasized: "We are committed to accompanying and creating the most favorable conditions for people, businesses, and domestic and foreign traders in the activities of harvesting, processing, consuming, and exporting lychees. Luc Ngan lychees are not only an agricultural product, but also the pride of the locality, a symbol of innovation, creativity, and aspiration to reach out to the world."
At the program, many signing ceremonies of cooperation agreements on lychee consumption between enterprises, cooperatives and people took place. This is a vivid demonstration of the sustainable linkage model of "4 houses". Many special response activities such as lychee picking competition, lychee packaging, lychee beverage processing, lychee-themed costume performance... contributed to strongly spreading the cultural and economic value of Luc Ngan specialties.
The initiative of local leaders, the participation of businesses and the efforts of farmers in diversifying outputs, finding solutions to quickly consume products at good prices for people have been and are expected to bring a bumper crop of lychee for the people of Luc Ngan district.
Luc Ngan litchi is currently protected by trademark and geographical indication in 8 countries (China, United States, Japan, Korea, Australia, Singapore, Laos, Cambodia), and is exported to more than 30 countries and territories. With a series of events during the 2025 litchi harvest season, Bac Giang not only expects to boost consumption of the 2025 litchi crop, but also gradually build litchi into a national product. |
