For that reason, sometimes users want to "tell" AI chatbots everything about themselves because they think it's harmless. However, this action has unpredictable consequences.

Cybersecurity expert Stan Kaminsky of Kaspersky (Russia) warns: "Do not send any of your personal data to AI chatbots."
"Never share with chatbots your passwords, passport numbers, ID cards, bank cards, addresses, phone numbers, real names and other personal data belonging to you, your company or your customers," he noted.
Kaminsky also warned users not to upload documents to the chatbot. “This puts you at risk of leaking confidential data, intellectual property, or trade secrets, such as new product release dates or the payroll of an entire company,” he explained.
Kaspersky experts explain that personal data sent to AI chatbots can easily be exposed in many ways. For example, ChatGPT will automatically save conversations to train new versions.
In the process, the chatbot may inadvertently share your information with other users. Furthermore, your conversation with the AI chatbot may be subject to review by moderators.
"Remember that anything you share with a chatbot can be used against you. It's best to keep your conversations with the chatbot as anonymous as possible," The Sun quoted experts as saying.
