Specifically, the subjects impersonated tax authorities, claiming to be tax officers, asking taxpayers to provide citizen identification images to receive support for tax refund procedures, tax reduction, tax settlement... They even sent links requesting the installation of fake applications, thereby taking control of the phone to steal data and bank accounts.

Another trick of the scammers is to create websites with interfaces similar to the official portals of tax authorities or businesses, making it easy for users to be confused and provide important personal information. In addition, the subjects also fake SMS messages displaying the brand name of the tax authority, containing fake links to control users' devices and appropriate assets.
In the face of the above situation, the Tuy Hoa City Tax Team recommends that taxpayers need to be vigilant, calm, and alert against threats over the phone; absolutely do not provide personal information, OTP codes or allow anyone to access their devices via phone or social networks to support the installation and use of software from competent agencies. For all work invitations, the Tax Team sends invitations, official documents or contacts from the landline phone number of the tax authority. When detecting suspicious signs, people need to immediately notify the tax authority for timely guidance and handling.
