Rare incident at FIFA Club World Cup 2025™

In the early morning of June 17, the match between Chelsea and Los Angeles was interrupted by an incident involving Olivier Giroud.

After the break, the two teams entered the field to prepare for the second half. However, the match could not take place because Los Angeles FC was missing one player, Olivier Giroud.

Giroud forgot his shirt in the dressing room.

The French striker was standing awkwardly on the sidelines wearing only his undershirt. The reason was that he had left his jersey in the locker room. Immediately, reserve goalkeeper David Ochoa had to rush inside, get the shirt for Giroud to wear and return to the game.

Meanwhile, Chelsea is almost certain to continue, because the opponents in Group D are all rated below the level of coach Enzo Maresca and his team.
