Son La: Dismantling a group illegally manufacturing, storing, and trading military weapons

On the afternoon of June 27, the Investigation Security Agency, Son La Provincial Police, informed that the unit had issued procedural decisions against 4 subjects in the "Illegal manufacturing, storage, and trading of military weapons" ring.

Previously, on June 25, the Investigation Security Agency and Son La Provincial Police coordinated to destroy a gang of "Illegal manufacture, storage, and trading of military weapons", seizing a large number of military weapons, rudimentary weapons, and related evidence.

To successfully destroy the case, the Investigation Security Agency, Son La Provincial Police coordinated with the Department of Cyber ​​Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention, Ministry of Public Security , Department of Cyber ​​Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention, Son La Provincial Police and related units.

In response to the above-mentioned acts, the Investigation Security Agency, Son La Provincial Police, issued an order to detain people in an emergency; urgently searched the residences of 4 subjects: Nguyen Van Hai, Nguyen Huu Dinh, Nguyen Van Thu (all born in 1998, residing in Phu Tho village, Dong Xuan commune, Soc Son district) and Hoang Minh Loc (born in 1991, residing in Xuan Lai village, Xuan Thu commune, Soc Son district, Hanoi city).

The Investigation Security Agency, Son La Provincial Police, has issued decisions to prosecute 4 subjects in the ring of "Illegal manufacturing, storage, and trading of military weapons".

The subjects were detained for investigation into the act of "Illegal manufacture, storage, and trading of military weapons" as prescribed in Article 304 of the Penal Code.

Seized evidence: 16 air guns, 12 mobile phones, 2 CNC cutting machines to manufacture air gun accessories, hundreds of knives, swords and many related evidences.

At the police station, the subjects confessed: In early 2022, the subjects discussed together to buy PCP air gun components to assemble and retail to customers in need in provinces and cities across the country.

To sell guns, the subjects created accounts on Youtube channels to advertise, find sources of gun components and accessories on e-commerce platforms (Lazada, Shopee, Tiktok) and order the production of some gun components and accessories, then record videos to post on Youtube channels to sell products to customers via social networks.

After the products were manufactured, the subjects used the express delivery system to transport them. They sold them to many people in Son La province and many other provinces and cities across the country.

The case is currently being further investigated by the Security Investigation Agency, Son La Provincial Police.
