Market developments show that Nghe An people's demand for used cars is still quite large.

At a car showroom in Hung Binh ward, Vinh city, there are currently many types of used cars for sale. The owner of the car showroom shared: Car models in segments from size A to C such as Hyundai Grand i10, Kia Morning, VinFast Fadil, Toyota Vios... are the names that are receiving great attention from customers who want to buy used cars. Used cars 3-5 years old are quite cheap, only from 250-350 million VND.

Every month, this showroom sells 15-20 cars. The showroom owner said that the goods must be "hunted" from everywhere, however, they are carefully inspected before being sold to customers, absolutely no collision, water hammer, flooding and no odometer rewinding. Customers are allowed to take their cars to auto garages for "testing" and if they are satisfied, they can buy them.

In Yen Thanh district, there are currently 3 large used car sales points. The number of used cars bought and sold here is bustling, with customers transacting across provinces and cities across the country.

The owner of a showroom in Yen Thanh district said that since the beginning of 2024, the used car market has been much more vibrant than last year. Like every year, the store always has about 8-10 cars, but now it is almost sold out during the week, the cars are gone as soon as they arrive, and we have to find new sources of goods.

People nowadays are quite fond of “used” pickup trucks, because they are versatile, serving both cargo transportation and family purposes. Used cars from brands Hilux, Ford Ranger… from 2014 - 2019 have prices ranging from 350-500 million VND, showrooms sell over 20 cars per month.

Mr. Tran Van Tinh - a customer in Quang Thanh commune (Yen Thanh) just bought a 2019 ISUZUS-Dmax pickup truck for 450 million VND. He shared: Before buying, I learned that this car line is famous for its durability and fuel economy. Buying a "used" car saves over 250 million VND to invest in other things.

The owner of a car garage in Hoang Mai town who both repairs cars and sells used cars added: Currently, used urban high-chassis cars and multi-purpose vehicles with a financial range of 500 - 650 million VND are of interest to customers. We can import them and sell them in just a few days, especially those with new "dates" from 2020, 2022 and 2023 are always sought after by consumers.

From the perspective of a used car dealer, Mr. Nguyen Van Chinh in Vinh city shared: Car models will lose about 20% - 25% of their value after 3 years of use, so buying a used car can save a significant amount of money, up to hundreds of millions of VND. Buying a used car has lower taxes and fees, such as the registration fee for a new car accounts for 10% of the car's value, while a used car is only about 2% of the depreciated value at the time of purchase.

The quality of used cars is really not a concern. If the used car is used for 3-4 years and is warranted and maintained properly, it will not deteriorate or be damaged too much. Buying a used car makes it easy to experience a higher segment.

It can be seen that the used car market is very vibrant, there are many "hot" car models such as high-chassis cars, pickup trucks with the highest profits but there is a shortage of goods to sell, forcing people in the profession to search everywhere for goods to provide to customers.

According to experts: Buying a used car requires caution, buyers must buy from reputable establishments, otherwise it is easy to be "trapped" by buying cars that have been refurbished, refurbished, or cars that have been flooded or damaged. Buyers must carefully check all related documents to accurately determine the "age" of the car, especially asking a mechanic to check the body, interior condition, check the engine, machinery, and test drive the car to avoid the situation of "losing money and getting sick".
