Saigon - Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank ( SHB ) has just been honored at the Asian Banking & Finance Awards 2025 ceremony, held in Singapore, with 4 major awards in both Retail Banking and Wholesale Banking categories.
These categories recognize SHB's outstanding initiatives in the fields of healthcare , sustainable development and internal culture building, while affirming the strategic orientation and social responsibility that the bank has consistently implemented throughout its development journey.
Specifically, at the ABF Retail Banking Awards 2025, SHB was awarded the “Best Banking Initiative for Health and Healthcare” and “Best Internal Social Initiative”. Meanwhile, at the ABF Wholesale Banking Awards 2025, the bank continued to be honored in two important categories: “Best Bank in Health and Healthcare” and “Most Outstanding ESG Program”. These awards were voted by an independent jury of experts from the world’s leading auditing and consulting firms such as PwC, Deloitte, EY and Bain & Company.

Being named in both award categories simultaneously demonstrates SHB's comprehensive and persistent efforts in innovating products and services, improving customer service quality, promoting technology application and demonstrating the spirit of serving the community through practical actions.

In the healthcare sector, SHB has deployed synchronous financial and technological solutions to support hospitals and medical facilities through digitizing the fee collection process. The bank connects the online banking system (Internet Banking) with hospital accounting and management software, helping medical units optimize cash flow, save operating costs, improve management efficiency and especially improve the payment experience for patients. By the end of 2024, SHB has become a strategic partner of 76 hospitals nationwide. In particular, SHB sponsors part or all of the cost of upgrading payment software for hospitals, affirming its commitment to accompany and develop.
Sustainable development, putting people as the subject
SHB was honored with the “Most Outstanding ESG Program” award thanks to its specific action programs and real impact on the community. After Typhoon Yagi in late 2024 caused severe damage in the North, SHB promptly implemented a comprehensive support package for affected customers. The bank reduced interest rates by an average of 50% from September to December 2024, and launched a preferential interest rate credit package of 4.5%/year to support production recovery, especially for small and medium enterprises, including hydropower plants that were severely damaged. The total amount of money SHB contributed to the Program to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households nationwide and to implement interest exemption and reduction for customers, supporting people affected by storms and floods, is estimated at up to 150 billion VND.
SHB and T&T Group also accompanied the Ministry of Public Security to implement the program of eliminating temporary houses and supporting the poor in all provinces and cities, including the construction of 700 houses for the poor in Bac Lieu province; 150 houses for people and 1 school for children of ethnic minorities in mountainous areas in provinces heavily affected by storms and floods such as: Son La, Phu Tho, Tuyen Quang, Dien Bien, Yen Bai, Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Thai Nguyen...
SHB supports Soc Trang province with 100 billion VND to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses
Putting people as the main subject - one of the four important pillars of SHB, the bank organized large-scale internal bonding activities and programs called the Cultural Festival "Steadfastly entering the new era" at My Dinh National Stadium. The event gathered nearly 6,500 staff from all provinces and branches in Laos and Cambodia - becoming the largest festival ever in SHB's history.
The 2025 Cultural Festival is organized to show gratitude, strengthen solidarity, increase love and pride in the organization of employees, and add motivation to prepare together to enter the leading breakthrough stage; and to convey the message about SHB's mindset, aspirations and vision, ready to enter the New Era - the Era of national growth.
