According to the announcement of the Hanoi Statistics Office, the gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the second quarter of 2025 is estimated to increase by 7.69% over the same period last year. Of which, the service sector increased by 8.28%; the industrial and construction sector increased by 7.75%; the agricultural, forestry and fishery sector increased by 3.11%; product taxes minus product subsidies increased by 4.81%.
The service sector, which accounts for a large proportion of the economy, continues to be a bright spot with high growth (8.28%), contributing 5.56 percentage points to the GRDP growth in the second quarter of this year.
The industrial and construction sector is estimated to increase by 7.75% in the second quarter over the same period last year, contributing 1.56 percentage points to the City's GRDP growth.

The agriculture, forestry and fishery sector in the second quarter is estimated to have increased by 3.11% over the same period last year, contributing 0.07 percentage points to the GRDP growth. Product taxes minus product subsidies in the second quarter are estimated to have increased by 4.81%, accounting for 0.5 percentage points of GRDP growth.
In the first 6 months of 2025, the city's GRDP is estimated to increase by 7.63% over the same period last year (first quarter increased by 7.56%; second quarter increased by 7.69%).
The service sector's growth in the past 6 months has been the mainstay of the economy, with added value estimated to increase by 8.42% over the same period last year (8.57% in the first quarter; 8.28% in the second quarter), contributing 5.76 percentage points to GRDP growth.
Some high growth sectors, contributing a lot to the GRDP growth in the first 6 months of this year are:Education and training increased by 13.77%, contributing 0.57 percentage points to the overall growth; administrative activities and support services increased by 13.54%, contributing 0.56 percentage points; transportation and warehousing increased by 11.24%, contributing 0.97 percentage points; accommodation and catering services increased by 10.32%, contributing 0.17 percentage points; finance, banking, insurance increased by 7.75%, contributing 0.76 percentage points; information and communication increased by 7.53%, contributing 1.14 percentage points; healthcare and social assistance activities increased by 7.36%, contributing 0.11 percentage points...
The industrial and construction sector is estimated to increase by 6.83% (in the first quarter it increased by 5.66%; in the second quarter it increased by 7.75%), contributing 1.29 percentage points to GRDP growth.
The industrial sector in the first months of 2025 was affected by political fluctuations in the world, especially in the second quarter when the US tariff policy adjustment caused certain difficulties for processing and manufacturing enterprises. The estimated added value in the first 6 months of this year reached 6.84%, contributing 0.83 percentage points; of which the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 6.95%, contributing 0.75 percentage points; electricity production and distribution increased by 5.94%, contributing 0.04 percentage points; water supply and treatment activities, wastewater increased by 6.27%, contributing 0.04 percentage points. The construction sector in the first 6 months of the year is estimated to increase by 6.81%, contributing 0.45 percentage points to the overall increase.
The agriculture, forestry and fishery sector in the first 6 months of the year is estimated to increase by 3.21% over the same period in 2024 (in the first quarter, it increased by 3.34%; in the second quarter, it increased by 3.11%), contributing 0.07 percentage points to the GRDP growth.
In the first months of the year, there were no major epidemics in the city, herd restoration activities were focused on, the output of live pigs for slaughter increased by 3.3% over the same period last year; poultry meat increased by 3.7%.
Product taxes minus product subsidies are estimated to increase by 4.84% (first quarter increased by 4.87%; second quarter increased by 4.81%), accounting for 0.51 percentage points of the overall GRDP increase.
According to the Hanoi Statistics Office, in the context of complicated and unpredictable developments in the world economy, export difficulties, and stagnant domestic market purchasing power, the GRDP growth in the first 6 months of this year being higher than the same period last year (6.13%) and higher than the construction scenario at the beginning of the year (7.59%) is very important and noteworthy.
