The patient is VTTT (born in 2009, H'Mong ethnic group, living in Pung Luong commune, Lao Cai province).

T. has lived with his grandparents since he was a child. A few years ago, the ameloblastoma of the lower jaw grew day by day, disfiguring his face and affecting his quality of life. However, due to his family's difficult circumstances, he could not afford treatment.

On July 10, thanks to the help of benefactors, he was taken to the 108 Military Central Hospital.

The Board of Directors of the Hospital, the Center for Craniofacial and Plastic Surgery decided to perform the surgery completely free of charge for the young girl.

On July 28, doctors performed surgery to remove the tumor, after carefully assessing and reconstructing the lesion using modern 3D printing technology.

"The tumor was determined to be 15x10x6cm in size, destroying nearly 2/3 of the lower jaw bone. We chose advanced microsurgery techniques, taking the fibula from the patient's leg to reconstruct the lost lower jaw bone, to restore the shape of the face and create the premise for future dental implants," said Associate Professor Duc.

After a 9-hour surgery, with a team of 7 doctors, the doctors removed the tumor from the patient's face. Currently, the patient's health is gradually stabilizing, and his face has somewhat recovered.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Quang Duc added that this is a very complicated major surgery that involves both aesthetic and functional factors and has a high risk of blood loss. However, facing a difficult patient from an ethnic minority, where medical conditions are limited, the doctors have made every effort to use the best treatment methods for the patient.
