Ready to start construction of Hon Khoai dual-use general port

Tomorrow (August 19), in Ca Mau province, the groundbreaking ceremony of Hon Khoai dual-use port will take place, one of the key projects in the area, with the Navy as the investor and DACINCO Construction Investment Company Limited as the main contractor.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Chau, Deputy General Director of DACINCO, up to now, all preparations for the groundbreaking ceremony have been completed. Thousands of engineers, workers and hundreds of equipment and machines have been mobilized to serve the event.

The project has a scale of 590.5 hectares, including a commercial port area of 59.1 hectares, a shared technical infrastructure area of 14.3 hectares and other auxiliary areas of 8.6 hectares. The main items include: a 1,000m long wharf; a system of 5 approach bridges; a total length of about 1,600m for shore protection; a combined shore protection embankment and breakwater of about 560m; a total length of 3,920m for breakwater.

In particular, the project has a 5.6km long shipping channel, a 600m diameter ship turning area, a 1,000m long anchorage area, with a total area of about 203ha, accommodating container ships up to 250,000 DWT with reduced load and general cargo and bulk cargo ships of similar size.

In addition, the project also builds a temporary construction system to serve the construction on an area of about 13 hectares, including a temporary wharf, material yard, precast component storage yard, camp area, concrete mixing station, logistics - technical system...

Hon Khoai dual-use port is expected to be an important driving force to promote socio -economic development and national defense and security in the Southwest region.

The project is invested by the Navy. The design consultant is the Maritime Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company.

The construction contractors include: DACINCO Construction Investment Company Limited; Thanh An 96 Construction Joint Stock Company; Tan Cang Marine Services Joint Stock Company (TCO); The supervisory units include Maritime Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company and the Institute of Special Construction Engineering.

DACINCO Construction Investment Company Limited (formerly known as Khuong Dung Company Limited, established in 2006) is an experienced contractor in many national key projects such as: Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon Expressway Project (Package XL1); Van Ninh - Cam Lo Expressway Project (Package XL1, XL2); Cao Lanh - An Huu Expressway Project (Package No. 14); Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway Project (Package No. 10); Lien Chieu Seaport Project, Da Nang City; Long Thanh International Airport Construction Project (Package 4.6 and Package 4.8).

In May 2025, DACINCO was honored to receive the Second Class Labor Medal from the President .
