On the afternoon of July 22, implementing the direction of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to urgently deploy plans and measures to respond to the impact of storm No. 3, the Department of Construction requested agencies and units to closely monitor information on the developments of storm No. 3 and organize 24/7 on-duty to grasp the situation, anticipate the worst possible situations in order to respond promptly, assign forces on duty, and be ready to support and help people when facing difficulties.

Operation management units, construction units, investors of infrastructure systems and construction works in the city closely coordinate with the People's Committees of wards, communes, special zones, and related units to inspect the drainage system, tide control sluices, tide valves, pumps, and pumping stations to ensure flood prevention for urban areas.
Arrange forces, vehicles, equipment to coordinate with relevant units to take measures to respond to and immediately handle incidents caused by natural disasters (incidents related to drainage systems, fallen trees, damage to lighting systems, road signs, accidents on waterways, roads, construction sites... especially when incidents occur in densely populated areas, headquarters, schools, hospitals, public works) to ensure smooth and safe traffic, minimizing risks and damage to people and property when incidents occur in the City.
The Department of Construction requests agencies and units to arrange forces and means of water and road transport suitable to the City's terrain when natural disasters occur to promptly meet the travel requirements of residents, rescue forces, and relief; Inspect and immediately handle cases of illegal encroachment on the system of rivers, streams, canals, ditches, and public lakes with waterway traffic functions in the City; urgently implement plans to ensure safety for ferries in the City in natural disaster conditions, control safety of water and road traffic in disaster-hit areas; Strengthen inspection of operations at cross-river passenger wharves, passenger pick-up and drop-off wharves and passenger transport vehicles, hydrofoils circulating on local inland waterways and national inland waterways; ensure absolute safety when participating in waterway traffic (vehicles must be inspected, have a communication system, fully equipped with life jackets, life buoys and not overloaded).
Relevant units regularly update and promptly report on incidents, damages and handling situations in response to the impact of storm No. 3.
