Among 331 excellent candidates from 84 countries and territories, Ninh Quang Thang, a student of Ha Long High School for the Gifted, won the Bronze Medal at the 37th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) held in Bolivia. This is one of the intellectual arenas with the best scale, professional quality, and reputation in the world, with highly difficult exam questions, requiring outstanding algorithmic thinking, programming, and creativity. The Vietnamese team had 4 students participating, all 4 of whom won medals. In which, Dat Mo is honored and proud to have Ninh Quang Thang. Previously, Ninh Quang Thang won the Bronze Medal at the Asia- Pacific Informatics Olympiad (APIO) in 2025. In the domestic excellent student arena, Ninh Quang Thang has won many high national excellent student awards. This is the result of a journey full of effort, courage and passion of a student of Dat Mo, at the same time affirming the quality of education of Quang Ninh province in the international intellectual arena.
In order to promptly encourage Ninh Quang Thang students, as well as the Education sector, Quang Ninh province organized a ceremony to commend and award 400 million VND to Ninh Quang Thang and 200 million VND to teacher Ha Dai Ton, the teacher in charge of the 2025 Informatics team of Ha Long Specialized High School. This is the reward level stipulated in Resolution No. 63/2021/NQ-HDND dated December 9, 2021 of the 14th term People's Council of Quang Ninh province, which stipulates the reward and support regime in the training of excellent students of Quang Ninh province.
Previously, Trinh Viet Hoang, Ha Long High School for the Gifted, also won the Silver Medal at the Abu Rayhan-Biruni International Chemistry Olympiad 2025 held in Uzbekistan, attracting more than 110 contestants from 14 countries. Vietnam selected 4 students to participate in the exam from the top 32 students in the 2025 International Chemistry Olympiad Team Selection. After 2 rounds of practical and theoretical competitions, all 4 students of the Vietnamese delegation won prizes; in which, Trinh Viet Hoang excellently won the Silver Medal.
In the 2025 National High School Student Competition, Quang Ninh province won 88 prizes, an increase of 3 prizes compared to the previous year, the highest ever. At the Hung Vuong Summer Camp 2025 Competition held in Phu Tho province, gathering 33 specialized high schools with nearly 2,000 candidates, students of Ha Long High School for the Gifted achieved impressive results, bringing home 61 medals, including 4 Gold medals in Physics, Biology, French and Informatics; 32 Silver medals and 25 Bronze medals. In the Open Informatics and Robotics category, the team won 1 Gold medal, 3 Silver medals and 1 Bronze medal. In the 2025 High School Graduation Exam, with an average score of 6.19 points, Quang Ninh ranked 12th out of 34 provinces and cities nationwide.
The results that teachers and students, along with the education sector of Quang Ninh, have achieved in recent times have demonstrated the correct policies and decisions that the province has made for the cause of "growing people", especially high-quality training and strategic investment in key education. We believe that with the special attention and close guidance of the province, it will be a source of encouragement, motivation and driving force for generations of students to continue to shine, enroll in national, regional and international competitions for excellent students, so that Quang Ninh Mine will continue to be famous.
