The former Real Madrid star scored the only goal for Monterrey in a 1-1 draw with Inter. It was Ramos' first appearance for the Mexican club after two months out with injury.
Speaking after the match, Ramos said: "When you don't win and don't have 3 points, you obviously can't go home in a good mood. Even though we know this is a strong opponent, we are confident that we can decide the outcome of the match ourselves."
Ramos stressed that facing a team like Inter Milan was a big challenge, but he felt his side had their chances to win.
"A point is better than no points," Ramos added. "Maybe in the first half we didn't handle the situations well. But in the second half we improved our ball control and built up a clearer game. When the opponent's stamina was down, we had effective attacks."
Many fans praised Ramos on X. One account commented: "I can't believe this is a jump from a player who is almost 40 years old". Another fan said: "Ramos' class is still there". A fan said: "Even Inter's famously tight defense couldn't stop Ramos".
The draw leaves Monterrey and Inter sharing second and third place in Group E with one point each. The group is led by River Plate, who beat Urawa Reds 3-1 in the earlier match.
