This issue was discussed at the workshop “Data and archive management in the context of digital government development in Vietnam” held on July 31, organized by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi and Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City) in collaboration with FSI company.

At the workshop, Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong - Vice Principal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) said: "The 2024 Archives Law, Decree 113/2025/ND-CP and related projects have created an important legal corridor to promote digital archives and public data in Vietnam".
In the process of national digital transformation, data and archive management has become an essential requirement, closely linked to the goal of streamlining and modernizing the administrative apparatus and improving national governance capacity.
This is an irreversible trend; agencies, organizations and businesses need to manage data and digital archives to meet practical requirements and keep up with the world 's development.
During the event, many experts and managers pointed out important legal developments.
Specifically, the 2024 Law on Archives, effective from July 1, together with Decree 113/2025/ND-CP, has formed a solid legal corridor, strongly promoting digital archiving and public data management in Vietnam.
Dr. Cam Anh Tuan - Head of the Department of Archival Science and Office Management, University of Social Sciences and Humanities clarified many aspects both in theory and practice.
He emphasized the need for a scientific approach to digital data storage, affirming the increasingly important role of technology businesses in this process.
In addition, Dr. Cam Anh Tuan also highlighted the urgent need to train high-quality human resources to serve the work of data management and digital archives.
Within the framework of the workshop, researchers, organizations and businesses enthusiastically discussed many key issues such as: Digital solutions and document management software, along with the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in data management and digital storage.
Practical experiences in digital transformation in Party agencies, while frankly pointing out the difficulties and challenges facing digital data management in the context of building a digital government and developing human resources.
The workshop provided an opportunity for stakeholders to share research results and new technology platforms.
This is also an opportunity to promote tripartite cooperation between training research institutions, management agencies and technology enterprises, creating a combined strength, contributing to providing important data resources to serve the development requirements of digital government in Vietnam.
