Delegates cut the ribbon to inaugurate the Ong Hien canal branch bridge.
The bridge is 41m long, 3.5m wide, and has a load capacity of 5 tons; combined with upgrading the connecting road to 104m long and 5m wide. The total cost of the bridge construction is 635 million VND, from social mobilization, called for by the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association and the People's Committee of An Binh Ward (old), now Rach Gia Ward, along with contributions from sponsors. The Nguyen Van Don Volunteer Bridge Construction Team under the Hon Dat Association for Supporting Poor Patients is in charge of the construction.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association of An Giang province Nguyen Thanh Nhut said that the Ong Hien canal branch bridge is an important civil work, not only shortening the travel distance, helping students to go to school more conveniently, but also promoting socio -economic development, strengthening the relationship between villages and neighbors.

This is the second bridge across Ong Hien canal connecting Hoa Phuoc hamlet, Thanh Loc commune with Ward 5, Rach Gia ward, built by the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association of An Giang province.

At the ceremony, the sponsors received certificates of merit from the Chairman of the People's Committee of Kien Giang province (old) for their outstanding achievements in contributing to social security work in Kien Giang province.
On this occasion, sponsors presented 20 gifts (worth 300,000 VND/gift) to disadvantaged households in the two localities.
