Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Hoang Minh Nhan, Chairman of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City, said that in 2025, the Russian Federation and Vietnam will celebrate the 75th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations. He also recalled that the people of the two countries together celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification of Vietnam, and the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War.

According to Mr. Nhan, over the past 75 years, the brotherly friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Russian Federation have been increasingly consolidated and deepened. In recent years, bilateral relations have developed dynamically at all levels, from central to local levels of the two countries, with strategic cooperation areas such as energy, defense, personnel training, people-to-people exchange, etc.

In particular, two recent high-level visits - the official visit to Vietnam by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin; the official visit to the Russian Federation and participation in the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War last May by General Secretary To Lam - have opened up new steps forward. The two sides have reached important, breakthrough agreements, aiming to deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries in all areas.

According to Mr. Nhan, on the basis of the good bilateral relationship between the two countries, Ho Chi Minh City is developing dynamic cooperative relations with many Russian localities and territories.

In the field of people's diplomacy, the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association and the Russia - Vietnam Friendship Association signed the Action Cooperation Program until 2030, demonstrating the close commitment and good feelings between the people of the two countries.
