On the morning of June 24, a press conference was held at the Headquarters of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese. Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang attended and delivered a speech at the meeting.

According to Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang, the press agencies have always been the pioneers, contributing to the glorious history of the nation. Over the years, especially on important occasions of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, the press has always accompanied and supported the Committee to disseminate information on the socio-economic situation, national security and defense... to people at home and abroad.

Sharing about her meetings with our compatriots abroad, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang always felt the attention and following of the media to update domestic news. “This shows the increasingly strong influence of the Vietnamese press on our compatriots abroad,” said the Deputy Minister.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that for the work of overseas Vietnamese, journalists are the steadfast, quiet but solid bridge, connecting the hearts of overseas Vietnamese with their beloved motherland.

Regarding the situation of our compatriots abroad, the Deputy Minister said that the Vietnamese community abroad has now reached more than 6 million people, diverse in terms of generations, qualifications, circumstances and jobs. According to Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang, the press, with its creativity, humanity and constant innovation, has been doing a very good job of connecting the love between our compatriots and the country, creating a large community connection.

The leader of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese always respects, remembers and wishes to continue to stand side by side with the press, as close friends and comrades on the journey to connect Vietnamese hearts all over the world .

On this occasion, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang thanked the journalists and hoped that in the coming time, she would continue to receive the companionship and support of press agencies and most recently in the events of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, such as the Vietnam Summer Camp, Vietnamese Language Training Course, the series of Days to Honor Vietnamese Language, and activities of overseas Vietnamese attending the 80th anniversary of National Day, September 2, etc.

Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien, shared his memories with the press during his time working at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and said that the press is both the public and a means to help bring information about the diplomatic sector to the public, helping not only bring information about the domestic situation to domestic readers but also to international friends and Vietnamese people abroad.

Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien hopes that in the coming time, press agencies will continue to accompany and support the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in information and communication work, thereby helping to spread information, refute false information, protect overseas Vietnamese from negative information, and strengthen trust and attachment to the homeland.
