After listening to a quick report on the situation of deployment of on-duty forces, response to storms and the risk of heavy rain, floods and inundation in the ward over the past two weekends, Party Secretary and Chairman of Dong Da Ward People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Viet requested all forces to prepare for all situations to be ready, not to be passive or surprised. Along with that, closely monitor the developments of natural disasters and storms in the area to assess the situation, closely follow the direction of the Central and the city; arrange plans close to reality, thereby deploying timely and effective response according to the motto "four on-site" to each residential group and residential area.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward and socio- political organizations need to do a good job of propaganda, promote the effectiveness of propaganda channels - especially on forums and social networks so that people can grasp the situation; regularly report on the developments of storms and floods so that people can grasp information, know how to respond when natural disasters occur to minimize damage, and have the best preparation with the political system.
Emphasizing the priority of putting people's lives first, the Party Secretary of the ward requested relevant departments and offices to proactively review apartment buildings in the area, assess the situation to have a plan ready to arrange temporary accommodation for people; prepare plans to arrange forces, vehicles, food, and necessities in vulnerable areas at risk of being isolated during heavy rains, storms, and floods, to proactively and promptly carry out rescue work, and support people when necessary.
Along with that, the functional forces of the ward informed units such as: Electricity, lighting, telecommunications, environment... to assign staff to be ready to handle incidents caused by the storm; Ward Police, Ward Military Command are ready to be on duty, closely monitor the situation, proactively deploy response work in accordance with actual natural disaster developments; promptly report, advise the leaders of the Ward People's Committee in directing implementation and report issues beyond their authority for timely handling.
The storm on July 19th caused two trees to fall and uproot, blocking the road on some streets and areas in Dong Da ward, affecting the electricity, lighting, and telecommunications systems...
The Ward's Command Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue has directed functional forces to trim, cut down, and relocate trees to ensure smooth traffic.
In areas with electrical short circuits and broken wires due to trees falling on individual houses, the Ward People's Committee proactively coordinated with Dong Da Electricity Company to promptly fix the problem to serve people's daily lives.
