Phu Trach hopes for a prosperous land

Along with the whole country, on July 1, 2025, Phu Trach commune officially came into operation. With the new name, the land with rich potential at the foot of Hoanh Son mountain range is facing a new opportunity to become a prosperous commune at the northern gateway of the new Quang Tri province.

Land of great potential

Phu Trach is a land with great potential, advantages and opportunities to become a growth pole in the North of the province. Because, after the merger, there are very few localities like Phu Trach - this land converges all the terrains of mountains, forests, rice fields, salt fields, sea and islands.

If in the coastal area (formerly Quang Dong and Quang Phu), Phu Trach "owns" Hon La Economic Zone (EZ), which is being focused on by the province to become a dynamic, multi-sector, multi-field economic center, then in the mountainous area (formerly Quang Kim and Quang Hop), with the advantage of large areas of forest land and hilly land, there is ample room to develop farm and ranch economy in the direction of commodities and green agriculture.

In particular, during the geological formation process of nature, the Hoanh Son range jutting out into the East Sea has "bestowed" this land with magnificent landscapes and landscapes: Deo Ngang, Mui Ong, Mui Rong, Hon La, Vung Chua-Dao Yen, Tam Cap waterfall, Loan river... These landscapes have been gradually awakened to become attractive destinations, enough to hold tourists' feet.

Right at the foot of Ngang Pass is Lieu Hanh Holy Mother Temple; together with Vung Chua - the eternal resting place of General Vo Nguyen Giap and the historical and cultural relic Hoanh Son Quan, these three places have created the highlights of tourism in the North of the province, attracting tens of thousands of visitors each year to visit, sightsee and enjoy the scenery.

In addition, in the coastal area of ​​Phu Trach commune, there are many small islands and beautiful beaches that are currently attracting the attention of businesses and investors, investing in eco-tourism and sea resorts. In Phu Trach commune, there is also Tam Cap waterfall, a wild and majestic scenic spot on Thai river, which has been approved by the Provincial People's Committee to invest in a 4-star resort project...

Understanding that the arrangement of administrative units is a necessary requirement to streamline the apparatus, a historical revolution, recently, cadres, party members and people in Phu Trach commune have agreed and highly agreed with this policy.

Vice Chairman of Phu Trach Commune People's Committee Nguyen Duc Hien said: In recent years, relying on Hon La Economic Zone, the locality has seized opportunities, led and encouraged people to strongly shift the economy towards increasing the proportion of small-scale industries, trade and services.

Currently, in the commune, there are hundreds of restaurants, hotels and other service industries that have relatively fully met the living and production needs of the people and tourists. In particular, in the commune, there are more than 1,000 people working in Hon La and Vung Ang Economic Zones ( Ha Tinh ) with quite high and stable salaries.

In Quang Dong commune alone (old), in 2024, the total income in all fields of the commune reached more than 359 billion VND, of which the value of small-scale industry, trade-services, and rural occupations reached over 270 billion VND; the value of agriculture-forestry-fishery only accounted for 38.15 billion VND. The average income per capita reached over 57.7 million VND/year.

According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Hien, when Phu Trach commune comes into operation, the locality will have a lot of room for economic development, with great expectations of becoming a rich commune at the northern gateway of the province. Along with taking advantage of opportunities from Hon La Economic Zone to train human resources, supply quality labor, create high income, the locality promotes the development of marine economy (fishing, seafood processing, salt production) in coastal areas.

In the hilly areas (Quang Kim and Quang Hop), the commune will have an orientation to develop agricultural economy with native plants and animals in the direction of goods, supplying the Hon La Economic Zone, increasing income for people. In this area, many people are domesticating and cultivating plants and animals that are specialties of the forest, such as: Sim tree, strawberry, mold, wild boar, wild chicken...

Born and raised in Quang Phu commune (now Phu Trach commune), after graduating from university, Le Huy Hoang returned to his hometown to start a business. These days, Hoang and the people here are also eager for this historic change. After nearly 40 years of attachment, Hoang and the people have witnessed the daily changes of his hometown.

Phu Trach commune was established on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population of the four communes of Quang Dong, Quang Phu, Quang Kim and Quang Hop. Phu Trach commune has a natural area of ​​197.42 ^km2 (reaching 658.08% of the standard), a population of 30,850 people (reaching 192.81% of the standard). The administrative office of Phu Trach commune is located in the old Quang Phu and Quang Dong communes.

From a poor countryside, Quang Phu today has risen to put on a new coat of spaciousness, fullness, and prosperity. Like the majority of people in the commune, Mr. Hoang believes that after the merger and operation of Phu Trach commune, it will bring new development opportunities to the locality, and people will have the opportunity to become rich, contributing to the overall development here.

Standing Deputy Secretary of Phu Trach Commune Party Committee Nguyen Van Minh affirmed that the merger and streamlining of commune-level administrative units is truly a "historic turning point" for the localities. For the new Phu Trach, this is both an opportunity and a great challenge. The Party Committee, government and people of the commune will continue to promote the tradition of their homeland, the strength of great national unity, and exploit the potential and advantages of the locality as a premise for comprehensive socio-economic development.
