Phong Chau Paper Secondary School was established in 1990 under the name Phong Chau Specialized Secondary School; in 1999 it was merged with Bai Bang Paper Secondary School and was named Phong Chau Paper Secondary School.

When the school was first established, its facilities were still poor, but with the attention of Party committees and local authorities, the Department of Education and Training, and the efforts of teachers and parents, the school's facilities and equipment were gradually invested in and upgraded.

In particular, the school has 201 9th grade students admitted to 10th grade public high schools; of which 47 students were admitted to 10th grade at Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted and Natural Sciences.
