BHG - Over the years, Ha Giang Newspaper has always maintained the motto of "sticking close to reality, accompanying the grassroots". To realize that motto, the Editorial Board of Ha Giang Newspaper has specifically assigned reporters to be in charge of areas in all 11 districts and cities in the province. Each district has at least 2 reporters who regularly stay close to the grassroots, promptly reflecting the movements at the grassroots, as well as the thoughts and aspirations of the people.

The province is vast, rugged, and difficult to travel to. Many communes in the highlands, remote areas, and isolated areas take hours, even days, to reach. However, with a high sense of responsibility, reporters in charge of the area have not been afraid of hardships, crossing mountains and forests to be present at the scene in time, recording "hot" events, good models, and creative ways of doing things from the grassroots.

As reporter Hoang Tuyen, in charge of Bac Me district, shared: “Many times when information is just emerging at the grassroots level, I have to immediately hit the road, regardless of rain or shine, or steep passes. There are times when landslides or natural disasters occur, getting to the hot spots is extremely difficult, but we have to be there to report promptly and fully.” Reporter Tran Ke, in charge of Meo Vac district, a place famous for its rugged terrain, said: “It is impossible to do desk journalism” in places like this. To be able to write, you have to see with your own eyes, hear with your own ears, live with the people, understand their lives, then you can convey stories that are truly moving.”

In Xin Man district - one of the remote areas with complex terrain, reporter Van Long is always present in every movement of the district from building new rural areas, natural disaster prevention to typical household economic models. He is not only a journalist but also an "acquaintance" with the district leaders and remote communes.

As people directly in charge of the localities, reporters are assigned to closely monitor the socio-economic development situation, outstanding issues, emulation movements, production models, creative ways of doing things, and promptly detect shortcomings and limitations in the localities to reflect and make recommendations through press works.

The leader of Xin Man District People's Committee assessed: Reporters in charge of the area are an important bridge between the district and readers. They not only help to convey information in a timely manner but also contribute to spreading good models, creating motivation for competition in the whole district. In recent years, many models of poverty reduction, agricultural development, mixed garden renovation, temporary house and dilapidated house removal programs, etc. have been effectively promoted, thanks to the close follow-up of Ha Giang Newspaper reporters.

During their work, reporters also built close relationships with district and commune leaders and specialized departments. This not only facilitated access to information but also created trust with the grassroots. That trust is the foundation for real-life stories, unique development models, urgent issues... to be conveyed vividly and truthfully to readers.

Close to the grassroots, close to life, quick in reflection and standard in language and style are the qualities that are creating the brand of the team of reporters in charge of the Ha Giang Newspaper's area.

From July 1, Ha Giang and Tuyen Quang will merge into the new Tuyen Quang province. The area is larger, and the organizational structure may have adjustments and changes. For the team of reporters in charge of the area, this is both a challenge and an opportunity. Initial confusion is inevitable, but it requires more initiative, flexibility, and responsibility in work. No matter the area, the spirit of staying at the grassroots, reflecting promptly, accurately, and vividly the breath of life is still the guiding principle of Ha Giang journalists in the new journey.
