Accompanying the delegation were comrades: Ho Van Mung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang province; Lam Minh Thanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Kien Giang province and leaders of a number of central ministries and branches.

At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh listened to representatives of local authorities and the Steering Committees of the two provinces report on preparations for the Ceremony to announce resolutions and decisions of the Central and local governments related to the arrangement of administrative units. Notably, the establishment of the newly formed Binh An commune was based on the merger of three communes: Binh An, Vinh Hoa Hiep and Vinh Hoa Phu (Chau Thanh district, Kien Giang province).
The new Binh An commune officially began operating on July 1. According to the arrangement plan, the working headquarters of the Party Committee, People's Council and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune will be located at the old location of Vinh Hoa Hiep commune, while the headquarters of the People's Committee of the commune and the Public Administration Service Center will be located at the old location of the People's Committee of Binh An commune.
At the time of inspection, all facilities had been renovated and arranged. The public administration center had arranged enough staff including 2 leaders and 7 civil servants. The administrative procedure system of the new commune had also been publicly posted, ready to serve the people from the first day of operation.

Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh personally inspected the hall hosting the television bridge in Binh An commune, where the official announcement ceremony will take place on the morning of June 30.
After the on-site inspection, the Deputy Prime Minister acknowledged and commended the proactive and urgent spirit of the Party Committee, government and people of Binh An commune in the preparation work. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that this is one of the important and typical locations for the announcement ceremony in the nationwide administrative unit arrangement and adjustment.
The Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated the effective coordination between the Steering Committees of An Giang and Kien Giang provinces in the process of preparing and implementing the tasks. The rearrangement of administrative units needs to be carried out synchronously, uniformly and effectively, ensuring the stable and continuous operation of the government apparatus, serving the needs of the people and businesses well.
The Deputy Prime Minister also requested that the authorities of the two provinces continue to review and promptly remove existing obstacles in the handover and transition of organizational structure, staff and facilities.
At the same time, it is necessary to strengthen extensive propaganda to cadres, party members and people to create high consensus in society, maintain political stability and social order and safety in the transition period.
