Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen The Phuoc worked with a number of localities on site clearance for the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway project.

On the afternoon of July 21, at the headquarters of Lao Cai Ward People's Committee, comrade Nguyen The Phuoc, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, had a working session with the wards and communes of Lao Cai, Bao Thang and Bao Ha on site clearance for the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway construction investment project, the section passing through the province.

Attending the meeting were leaders of the Department of Construction, Department of Finance, Department of Agriculture and Environment and related sectors; leaders of the People's Committee of Lao Cai ward, Bao Thang commune and Bao Ha commune.

The Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway construction investment project has a total main line length of 390.9 km, the section passing through Lao Cai province is 143.29 km long (the starting point is at the rail connection point with China, the end point is Au Lau ward, Lao Cai province). Total project investment is 203,231 billion VND.

Up to now, in the wards and communes of Lao Cai province (old), measurement and counting have been completed in many key areas such as Lao Cai city, Gia Phu communes, Bao Thang communes... with a completion rate of 100%.

Site preparation for the construction of the new Lao Cai station is also being accelerated to start construction in December.

The province plans to build 45 resettlement areas for 1,766 households; 19 in the North and 26 in the South, with a total construction cost of 635 billion VND.

Leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Environment spoke at the meeting.

At the meeting, representatives of departments, branches and localities expressed their opinions on: difficulties in site clearance; determining the origin of land is still complicated; official site clearance landmark records from the investor have not been handed over; large production facilities that need to be relocated have many items without specific support prices...

Representatives of departments, branches and localities requested the province to issue specific land prices to inform the people; requested the project investor to promptly complete the preparation of the feasibility study report and the site clearance landmark record to hand over to the province as a basis to speed up the project's site clearance progress...

Concluding the meeting, Comrade Nguyen The Phuoc emphasized: The high-speed railway project is not only a national key project but also has strategic significance for the socio-economic development and regional connectivity enhancement of Lao Cai province. The rapid and effective implementation of site clearance is a key factor determining the progress of the entire project.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that wards and communes continue to closely coordinate with functional agencies to complete dossiers, compensation, support and resettlement plans in a public, transparent and legal manner; need to prepare land for relocation of enterprises, ensuring that production and business activities are not interrupted...
