Representatives of the Department of Education and Training and Lam Son High School for the Gifted awarded prizes to students who won prizes in the national excellent student competition for the 2024-2025 school year.

During the 2020-2025 term, the Department of Education and Training has proactively and actively advised and proposed to the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and Provincial People's Committee to issue policies, guidelines to serve the work of leadership, direction, management, operation, and development of education such as: Decision No. 700-QD/TU, dated September 10, 2021 on the Program to improve education quality for the period 2021-2025; Decision No. 2220/QD-UBND, dated June 24, 2022 of the Provincial People's Committee on promulgating the Project "Developing the team of teachers and educational managers of Thanh Hoa province to meet the requirements of implementing the General Education Program (GDPT) 2018 for the period 2022-2025, with a vision to 2030"; Plan No. 76/KH-UBND dated March 28, 2023 of the Provincial People's Committee on "Enhancing the application of information technology and digital transformation in education and training in the period of 2023-2025, with a vision to 2030 in the province"...

Along with the advisory work, in the period of 2020-2025, the Thanh Hoa Department of Education and Training has left an important mark in the process of implementing the key program, the breakthrough according to the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress, Resolution No. 58-NQ/TW of the Politburo with many outstanding results. In particular, the teaching staff has increasingly improved in teaching quality and training level with the rate of qualified managers and teachers reaching 98.8%, exceeding the plan by 0.1%. The rate of trained managers and teachers participating in the implementation of the 2018 General Education Program reached 100%, ensuring the plan. The work of planning and arranging the school network, investing in facilities and educational equipment has been carried out in accordance with the reality, socio-economic development conditions of the locality and the learning conditions of the people as well as the requirements of educational innovation. Currently, the rate of schools applying the smart classroom model in the whole province has reached 18%. The rate of kindergartens organizing semi-boarding meals has reached 100%; primary schools in mountainous areas organizing semi-boarding meals for students has reached 55.3%, exceeding the set plan by 5.3%. Notably, the whole province has 1,716/1,979 schools meeting national standards, reaching a rate of 87%. Of which, there are 583/677 preschool schools, reaching a rate of 87%; 569/588 primary schools, reaching a rate of 91.6%; 525/610 secondary schools, reaching a rate of 86% and 69/104 high schools, reaching a rate of 66.3%.

This result has significantly contributed to the goal of maintaining and improving the quality of universal preschool education for 5-year-old children, universal primary and secondary education, creating a strong change in the quality of mass education and key education at all levels of education. According to statistics, the average score of Thanh Hoa province's high school graduation exam in 2024 ranked 18th out of 63 provinces and cities; in 2025 ranked 7th out of 34 provinces and cities nationwide (equivalent to 11th out of 63 old provinces and cities), up 26 places compared to 2020. In terms of quality of key education, it is always in the group of 6 leading provinces and cities nationwide. From 2021 to present, Thanh Hoa students have won 9 medals at regional and international Olympic competitions, including 5 silver medals and 4 bronze medals.

For example, in 2021, Thanh Hoa students won 1 silver medal in the International Physics Olympiad and 1 bronze medal in the Physics Olympiad at the Asia-Pacific Olympiad. In 2022, they won 1 silver medal in the International Mathematics Olympiad. In 2023, they won 1 silver medal in the International Physics Olympiad. In 2024, the whole province had 4 students selected to participate in the International Physics and Informatics Olympiad. As a result, 1 student won a silver medal, 2 students won a bronze medal in the Asia-Pacific Physics Olympiad and 1 student won a silver medal in the International Physics Olympiad; 1 student won a bronze medal in the Mendeleev International Chemistry Olympiad. In the 2024 national high school student selection exam, Thanh Hoa students won 84 prizes, reaching a rate of 93.3%, ranking first in the country in terms of prize-winning rate. Also in this exam in 2025, Thanh Hoa students won 77 prizes, of which 10/10 students in the Math exam won prizes and there were 2 first prizes...

However, according to the assessment of the Department of Education and Training, in the process of implementing the resolutions of the Party Congresses at all levels as well as facing the requirements of fundamental and comprehensive educational innovation, the Thanh Hoa Education and Training sector still has many limitations that need to be overcome soon, namely: Facilities and equipment for teaching and learning in many places of the sector are still difficult, not meeting the requirements of innovation and improving the quality of education according to the 2018 General Education Program. Investment in purchasing equipment for public general schools in the province is still slow. The quality of education between regions and areas is still different and uneven; some localities and units still focus on key educational achievements, not paying attention to improving the quality of mass education; moral education and life skills. The situation of surplus and shortage of teachers has been addressed but not thoroughly... This requires more attention and care from Party committees and authorities at all levels, and the efforts of the entire education and training sector in improving management efficiency and education quality. In particular, each teacher and each student needs to continue to strive to overcome all difficulties, be dedicated to their profession, compete to teach well, study well, and affirm the "brand" and position of "Thanh Land - Land of Learning".
