Previously, at around 3:30 a.m. on June 14, at Phuoc 2 Hamlet, Vinh Phu Tay Commune (Phuoc Long District), the inspection team coordinated with the district's Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station to inspect truck with license plate 94H-004.27. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the vehicle was carrying 120 pigs but could not present quarantine papers as required. The owner of the goods admitted that the pigs were transported from Can Tho to Bac Lieu for consumption.
The authorities have detained all pigs for 7 days to monitor the disease and requested the owner to complete additional quarantine procedures. During this time, the pigs will be handed over to the facility owner for care and supervision. If any suspicious signs are detected, the specialized agency will take samples for testing and handle them according to regulations if an infectious disease is detected.
