Launching the Contest "Application of information technology in organizing association activities" and the Contest "Composing songs praising women and Vietnamese mothers"

(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the afternoon of January 5, the Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) held a launching ceremony for the 2024 Theme "Enhancing the application of information technology in union activities", the Contest "Application of information technology in organizing union activities", and the Contest "Composing songs praising women and Vietnamese mothers".

The program was organized in person at the Central Association and online to the connecting points in provinces and cities nationwide. At the connecting point in Hai Phong city, leaders of the City Women's Union and related units attended the Launching Ceremony.

In order to concretize the breakthrough "Innovation in the Association's operation methods, focusing on information application" and the 2024 theme "Promoting the application of information technology in the Association's activities", the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union organizes the Contest "Application of information technology in organizing Association activities" in 2024.

The contest is organized to raise awareness and skills of the Association's officials at all levels on applying information technology in organizing member activities at the branches and groups; promote the creativity of the Association's officials at all levels and mobilize the active participation of members in innovating the form of organizing activities. Through the contest, good, creative, easy-to-apply solutions can be found to disseminate and replicate nationwide to improve, enhance quality, and create attractiveness in the way of organizing member activities.

The contest content is information technology application products/solutions to promote and improve the quality of members' activities, including: the application of software, digital tools, digital platforms... to design the content and forms of organizing activities at branches and women's groups. Information technology application products/solutions are applied in organizing branch and group activities in the form of thematic activities with topics related to the Association's tasks (disseminating and propagating the Party's and State's policies and laws, local political tasks; implementing emulation movements, campaigns, traditional education activities; solutions to solve urgent problems of women and children...).

The Contest is open to Association officials and members (including honorary members) who register to participate as a group or as an individual. The Contest takes place at the provincial and municipal levels online (via email, google form, web form or other digital platforms) depending on the conditions and capabilities of the provincial/municipal Association and unit. Each province, city and unit will evaluate and select from 3 to 5 best products to send to the Organizing Committee of the National Contest (Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union) before April 15, 2024.

At the program, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union launched the Songwriting Contest about Vietnamese women and mothers for professional and non-professional musicians who are Vietnamese living and working in and outside the country (including foreigners living and working in Vietnam); no age or occupation restrictions, authors of musical works that meet the criteria of the Contest; young authors, students of music and art schools, and people working in the arts are encouraged to participate. Songs need to be newly composed in traditional and modern musical styles, works in young, modern music genres that reach young people are encouraged.

The songs praise the feelings of Vietnamese women and mothers for their family, homeland and country; traditional qualities (heroic, indomitable, loyal, and responsible), new-age qualities (self-confidence, self-respect, knowledge, health, morality, and responsibility); love, compassion, and responsibility for themselves, their families, and their country. They especially praise the modern qualities of Vietnamese women and mothers (intelligent, agile, flexible, and skilled); full of courage in all areas of life, actively contributing to the development of the community, society, and country; dynamic thinking, sensitive to new things, but still preserving traditional features, still fulfilling the role and doing well the role of a mother.

The songs also praise the contributions of women and mothers in life, work, in caring for, nurturing, and educating children, contributing to fostering family values (focusing on the parenting education content of Project 938). Especially praising and honoring mothers with tolerance, sharing, and a sense of responsibility for social issues, especially in the post-COVID-19 period (Godmothers taking care of orphans).

Entries should be sent to the Organizing Committee from now until July 31, 2024 via email: [email protected], or to the address: Family - Social Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, (39 Hang Chuoi, Pham Dinh Ho Ward, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi... The summary and award ceremony is expected to take place on October 20, 2024.
